Game keeps casuing my pc to shutdown
So I dont have this on steam cause i bought it on humblebundle and it was for Uplay only unfortunately. I was able to play the game the first 2 days with zero problems. Now when I play it, after less than ten minutes my pc completely shuts down. I saw a similar problem on another thread about maybe a faulty PSU but this is THE ONLY game that this happens with. I tried recreating the problem on other games and nothing. Any ideas of what it could be?
16gb ddr3
MSI GeForce GTX 9804g
Rosewill PHOTON 850w full modular psu

Nothing is overheating. my temps are around 56c on my gpu. my bedroom temp is at like 37 f cause i like my room cold so my pc is fine temp wise

1. Check if it is system BSOD.
2. Run something to strain both your GPU and CPU at the same time - like FurMark with its CPU burn.

heres these 2 temps while the game was running http://prntscr.com/lmkiz5 I guess my cpu does run pretty hot. Ill try cleaning it out with air later to see if it helps

68 is nothing to write home about, unless your CPU is already dying. Try running the stress tests as I suggested, and see what happens.

so i let the stress test run for a couple minutes then hit stop. does it stop on its own normally?

69°C should not cause your PC to shutdown due to overheating. I think the safety is around 90-95°C

Cleaning out is never bad tho, give your GPU a cleaning too.
If FurMark comes up empty, run a memory check, if all hardware is clean i suggest to run a power usage protocol.

When a PSU dies, it usually turns your PC off when a certain treshhold on a certain Volt line is needed. Had that 2 years ago when my 5V line got wrecked. Everything was totally fine until i needed more then 300W. So i could watch TV, surf the net, play older games. But when i turned on FFXIV without limiting my fps it nearly instantly shut the PC down.

GL on this speacial kind of Odyssey ('-')/

Well the CPU stress test shut my pc down. Im going to run to the store and buy a new can of air and clean my rig out. we'll see if it helps

Probably not on its own. Might be worth removing CPU overclock if you have it.

It's how it came out of the box. I'm not sure how to remove it if it is ocd

you need a better CPU cooler, my guess its using the stock cooler, right??

if you are not sure, post a pic of your cpu cooler.

Fx chips should not go over 60c, hitting 69-70c with a FX chip will shut your system down.

90-95c will kill an FX CPU, this is not Intel or ryzen.

Recently one of my machines was powering off randomly, even when I was only doing things like using an internet browser. Then it wouldn't power back on for 10-15 minutes. After that I could start it up without problems, although it continued to shut down at random intervals. Checked my CPU temp and it was running in the upper 60's.

Opened up the case and three of my four case fans had gone west on me! Replaced all four and everything has worked fine since them.
