Did anyone else find elpenor randomly?

I was just exploring the question marks on the map and ended up finding elpenor. Did i loose out on a questline by finding him accidentally?

thats odd. i foud the caave where elpenor is and he wasnt in there until i got the quest to actually go to his location. very weird.

I don't know about Elpenor, but I did stumble upon some cultists completely by accident. Of course I sent their ass*s to Hades in the process.

Maybe... Save the game, kill him and see what happens?

Elpenor should'nt be near the destroyed Temple unless you got the quest "A Snake in the grass" active. I cleared that temple beforehand, and had to do so a second time after i got to that point.


Have you been to Megaris already and done the story there? After that point you should get the quest to kill him.

I don't remember the exact name of the quest but it just said Elpenor is still in Phokis. Is that literally all I was supposed to have to find him?

Yes, that quest is all what you needed to be able to find him.

He is just a minor player after all and serves only to get you used to the "anyone can be a baddie".

I was wondering the same as you, but after i killed him and got to lvl up my spear it was an "oh,well" moment

Lmao this exact thing JUST happened to me. I had the quest to find him somewhere on the island after he betrayed me, but I definitely wasn't pursuing it. I was actually on my way to another quest (to meet the oracle I believe) when I stumbled upon the "snake ruins" and I dropped myself off a cliff, and fought an enemy near the cave entrance. Then I'm like "ooh a small cave, let me loot it" and then freakin Elpenor was randomly there. It reminded me of some oldschool games where you can bump into bosses early on if you know where to go, it's hilarious.

@Irrapture Well, that´s weird. I did the EXACT same thing, wondering into that cave on my way to the Oracle. No Elpenor. After I talked to the Oracle (which leads you to Elpenor), I had a quest to go back to that cave...

I dont know whos eplenor but I killed one of the Ancients who I totally accidentaly met in one of the walkthrough workshops in Messeia lol

That's so weird, I wonder what causes him to be there. For me like I said, I had the quest to find him, but wasn't even trying to because I was on my way to the oracle. And he was just there in the cave lol. I even got special dialogue for already having him dead by the time I talk to the oracle
