No physical version of Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PC)?
So I've searched alot on several sites but it seems that you can't buy the boxed (phyisical) version of the game?

for PC games its probably going to be phased out since BluRay standard never took off so you cant really get the disc's you need and would download anyway.

If its about being unable to purchase online you could try and buy Steam cards locally.

Even if you able to get box edition, you will have to download the game.
The box contain CD key and maybe CD with Uplay client, but that is it.
Even the collector editions have only CD key.
Same was with Origins

Not true. I have boxed version of Origins and it contains 5x Double Layer DVD. However I downloaded the game anyway, since on my connection it is faster than swap 5 DVDs.

Yeah, it's more about the idea of actually holding the game in your hands and it looking neet on your bookshelf. Like in the old days...

I bought physical copy of Conan Exiles because my connection is slower than DVD speed ( ≈900MB/h) . Seeing this disappoints me to not buying the game. Maybe later. Ubisoft can thank Internet providers not caring about the part of the town where I live.

You don't need Blu-ray disc to install physical version of games. From the 1st ssassin's Creed until Assassin's Creed Origins, they were on DVDs (and Blu-ray discs are a part of the laser discs family, like DVDs are as well, but Blu-ray discs are not DVDs).

For instance, Assassin's Creed : Syndicate has got 5 DVDs... I looked for the DVDs version of Assassin's Creed : Odyssey and it seems that does not exist.

The CD only has data from when it was made. its like a day 1 game with no updates. You will still need to download the updates

Best to just buy it off steam or uplay

The laser discs of games are usually neither Blu-ray discs nor CDs, but DVDs. That is quite different (even if the three kind of discs are laser discs). I am chocked that some people are not able today to know the differences between those three kind of laser discs.

Now, to answer your comment, I much prefer download the update than to download a game. Downloading a game take much longer than to install it from the installation DVDs even if there are 5 DVDs to install in the box.

Hello,

That is correct. There is no physical boxed PC version of Odyssey, it is digital download only.

No, my Internet is not terrible, just learn about the bandwidth, that's a inherent problem of the Internet.

No, that is not the same thing at all... You talk like a senior who say "it's the same" because every modern thing is completely beyond him...

If you think CDs, DVD, Blu-ray discs, you really need to update your knowledge.

So you fell in the laptops trap ? I am really sorry for you. Laptops don't allow to play correctly, even the so called "PC gamers", they are a scam. The only way to play correctly to games is the desktop computer (with a CD/DVD player) and a real good graphic card. Not the laptops.

Oh, Lucifer, at least try to learn the basic computer lexicon... Nobody "download by CD" but "install"... And once more : there is no game on CD.

So go to learn the two or three very basic things, and come back when you'll now how to use words. If you are not able to understand such basic things, so you are not able to talk about things more complex we're talking to. So let people who don't confuse a plane and an helicopter, because that is exactly what you do talking about CDs insteau talking about DVDs (I don't even talk about your confusion between download and install !! It's like saying "the car is floating"... Those kind of mistakes are really shameful, so you'd better to learn words before talking about games.
