dual weapon question

new to the game lv 15
i have unlocked a second slot for melee weapons and i guess is for dual wield but i cant find how to use it because i i only have the option to choose from one weapon to the other
how to fight with both ?

There is no duel wielding weapons as you understand it. your offhand will always be the broke spear.

That second slot is to house extra abilities. you can hit a hotkey and toggle between one set of abilities and another. say for example you have 4 assassin abilities loaded for when you are being sneaky, then things go pear shaped and you need to fight. you hit the hotkey and load the second set of abilities, this time all warrior related.

if i look at inventory i have 2 slots for weapons not for abilities
can you cahange abilities ? i dont understand how and which menu you talk about

ok the two weapons you can equip just means you can swap weapons during battle. So if you have a dagger in one slot and a hammer in the other. you can toggle back and forth by hitting the T key.

eventually during the game you will unlock a second ability menu. so you can load more then 4 abilities, just toggle the menus by hitting a key. for me its F1 but it might be different key for you or you might be on a console.

The Second skill slot unlocks as you upgrade the spear. I think when you get it to level 3 it should be available. After that the menu will be available and you just select it when you are assigning skills.

@rpc.. actually.. it auto-kicks in at lv15.. just have two weapons equipped (one in each weapon slot .. right and left weapon slots in your char inventory) and use T on Kb to swap between them ... but as to your original question of weilding both at the same time.. nope .. not a thing... as Dupmeister said.. its one weapon and the Spear of Leonidas fragment

what having two weapons does for you however is allow you to benifit from whatever bonuses that second weapon has. say the weapon gives you +40% fire damage and +25% warrior damage ect. you get to reap those rewards even if you are not using the weapon. simply having it sheathed will grant you the bonuses. so you can have two legendary engravings on the weapon you use and two legendary engravings on the backup weapon. even if you never use it you get the power. my backup weapon is this monsterious heavy club that I dispise using. but I keep it on my back because it gives me +25% damage to elites and bosses. even if I am using my dagger I still deal that 25% damage.

I equip one weapon for Assassinate damage, and one for warrior damage when things go...wrong.
