Farming leather and iron: where?
Hey there
I'm only level 17, so cant access all zones, but I need leather, wood and iron to upgrade my stuff.
For wood, I fount out that doing naval battles is quite efficient: a lot of wood looted without much effort and quite fast.
As for iron and leather, I dont know. I kill basic animal in the stating areas (Kephallonia) as there seem to be a lot of them in certain zones. And for iron, I do grottos in Kephallonia and Megaris, and I can make between 35 and 50 iron / run. But is it good? I dont know.
Can you suggest me more effective ways to farm these resources.
Thanks in advance :)

Don't bother upgrading your gear before level 50, it is a waste of your time.

However, if you want to anyway, purple-icon war supplies and radiant quests (from bulletin boards or NPCs with a black icon) will give materials. Otherwise you can wear hunter gear, spec multishot, and go out to the forest to hunt animals. Ikaros is useful for that. You can also dismantle gear you don't want, but I recommend not dismantling anything epic as it is hard to judge what you may need until you get to know the game.

Really, dont waste your time and ressources to upgrade gear
You will need to grind an insane amount of ressources, each and every level, for nothing at all

You get loots and rewards all over the place, for free...use those free purples
You can also buy items to merchants

Use your ressources for the ship and later at lvl 50 to bring those legendaries to 50 in one go

Anyway, for mats

Wood, naval
Leather, find some animal spots and multishot them all
Iron, caves and mines
All mats can be bought at merchants
Dismantle
Purple caches

Best sources are definitely war supplies.

my suggestion is quite simple, anytime you think to ride your horse to the next quest check point, just walk, and while youre walking/jogging/freerunning to your next quest, just go straight thru nature and use your bow and arrow to hunt everything you see. ive got about 5K leather from doing this regularly.

cheers! (once more)
@those who are at level cap: do you still enjoy the game? I mean, do you still find things to do, things to upgrade, things to enjoy, when the main arc is somehow completed? That's what I'm looking for really

Still plenty of things to do at lvl 50
Mainly because you reach it too fast

Still, once you have completed all unique quests, visited all there is to visit, eventually cleaned everything,...well, time to move on i guess
After that, it is only repeatable quests and killing for killing, stuff should be maxed since forever

Not the type of game you can play for 1000+ hours

leather in forest but.. if youre patient all animal in the area will gather together in ''hotspots'' them just use the AOE arrow ability- profit, its better than running around killing one by one.

yeah, tons. still have atlantis and entire cult of kosmos to deal with, ntm hunting down legendary pelts(bonus upgrades) among countless things to do. its quite immersive IMO and if youre willing to slow down a bit, you can find yourself getting lost again. not quite as immersive as rdr2, but still dang good

Sell Common and Rare gears at the stores and buy hundreds of unit of resources at a time. This game stuffs you with so much money and gear that you'll never run out.
