Should I keep any rare gear?

My OCD makes making so many decisions a little painful, but I need to get rid of some equipment soon as I'm almost at the limit. Some of my rare gear is pretty good, but from what I've read, spending precious resources on upgrading them would be a waste.

Do most of you keep any rare gear or do you just dismantle it? If I could be convinced to only keep epic and legendary gear, that would make cutting down my collection much easier. Any advice?

If you're exploring and treasure hunting, you'll quickly have quite the selection of Legendary to suit all needs; until end-game the contraint will be money and resources ...with that in mind: I keep legendary, sell epic, and dismantle everything else.

I sell them all for drachmae and buy resource from blakcsmith if you have enough drachmae you can dismantle for resource btw your choice!

Dismantle all gear you'll never use. At max level, you only ever use epic and legendary gear, so anything below that should be considered as nothing more than resources to upgrade your best items.

Just decide on a playstyle focus that will last you the game. This will let you focus on either 1)Going for a legendary for the whole game to upgrade or 2)Staying with Epics and switching them out for better versions as you level up.

Legendaries are easier to just 'get and forget', only leveling up when you need to..but this can be very resource intensive. Not having to think about changing gear all game can be a perk though. Just remember that Legendaries are not the most 'powerful' in the game (shame, they should be).

Epics out-class legendaries if you go min-max with engravings since they get more bonuses. They also let you really pin point a playstyle and enhance it. Another plus is that you can just find epics that fit your style as you play the game, not having to waste resources on upgrading every few levels.

Personally, I had no reason to use legendaries. Losing 1 slot per equipment piece is too heavy a price. No unique bonus is worth losing those stackable bonuses.

DO NOT SELL EPICS. Epics in most cases will be stronger then Legendary Gear because they require you to use all the sets, but also Epic Gear have an Extra Engraving, and once you unlock a legendary set you can put the Legendary Engraving on 1 Item and get full benefits.

Once you get a Few Epics just dismantle All Rares and Below and Epics with stats you don't like or wont use

Min-maxing with engravings ...bleh (unless you're playing at the hardest difficulty).

Sell 25% of the items you pick up, dismantle 75%, and only keep things that are better than what you're wearing. Occasionally you'll find something so cool you'll want to keep it and upgrade it - typically those are Epic items. Only keep the stuff you intend to use and know that you'll get Legendary armor at some point and for each complete suit of legendary armor you acquire you gain the ability to use their suit power as a Legendary engraving - thus the real power of a legendary suit is having three different legendary effects working on it at once.

Until you unlock a couple suits, Epics are the best armor in the game.

never sell anything, DISMANTLE them instead. im sitting at 230k drachmae at level 44 and that is more than enough to buy me everything I will ever need (and if i get to the point where 230k isnt enough, i will have earned a lot more drachmae by then). MATERIAL, however is very important because it allows you to upgrade the ship but more importantly upgrade armors/weapons to max level which costs a TON OF MATERIAL. if you arent max level yet, pretty much just dismantle everything that you arent using.

Only keep it if it has a primary (warrior, assassin, hunter which they all do) and a crit and a damage or another crit ability. So you can enrgrave another. Anything else is garbage.

Had 600k drachmae and 10-20k on most resources by 45 ...selling your epics for about 1k per should make drachmae a moot issue for upgrades by 50, and while dismanteling everything else is certainly helpful, naval combat is the best way to gather resources. Dismanteling epics is a waste IMO.

By 50 I've now upgraded every legendary that I use (about 3 full outfits and some odds and ends, and about 7-8 weapons and 3 bows) ...and I've barely dented my coin or resource, with the exception of soft leather.

But to each their own:)

I still end up dismantling hundreds of epics because they're far too common (a strange problem to have). After clearing out all of my blue and white gear, I look up to the corner and still see 250+/350 inventory, then you know it's time to clear some of that out. Resources are used far more than drachmae when it comes to upgrading or engraving gear, so dismantling is the only logical action.

Most epics just aren't worth keeping, especially when they have conflicting stats, like ones that add crit chance at both high and low health, or increased poison damage and burn duration. If you want to be the most effective, then you need to specialize and choose your gear wisely, meaning anything outside of that specialization is naught but trash.

You aren't disagreeing with me, it's why I wrote: keep legendary, sell epics, dismantle everything else. I wrote nothing about keeping epics.

Selling epics is a good way to render drachmae concerns moot by late game. It's a waste (IMO) to dismantle them given that the epics often sell for over 1k per and there's more than enough rare and common gear to dismantle to help with resources.

Ive done all my levelling dismantling greys and blues, using and selling epics as soon as i dropped better
Never upgraded anything before lvl 50, not even gold weapons...waste of ressources

Now, at lvl 50, i upgraded everything gold, plus a few lvl 45-49 epics with good stats and skins

I keep around 10-20 epics for each slot with various stats and skins around and sell / dismantle everything else

More than enough for me
