Disable Level Scaling
I sincerely hope that in the future we can expect an update to disable level scaling. I hate this feature in every RPG it touches. It makes leveling feel unrewarding, even worse, it actually feels punishing.

I die in fewer hits at lvl 50 with maxed out legendary gear with armor and health inscriptions than my pure assassin character does at lvl 30. The more you level the less powerful you are in comparison to the world around you. Leveling at this point is nothing more than a pointless time gate to prevent people from finishing the game too quickly.

Give me the option to disable level scaling. I want to go back to old areas with the god tier power I have earned and descimate them with my new power. I should be one shotting lvl 10 areas because that is what power progression is all about.

At the very least I hope someone comes up with a mod to disable this piss poor "feature"

Well, the option to switch should always be there, just like in Origins. But let it on "Scaling" mode on default.

I played Origins without knowing i could switch it to scaling, because of that the game was boring. Especially roaming and exploring and to not have a challenge anymore in the mainquests was pretty frustrating. You like it easy because you "earned" your strength while others prefer to have still a challenge and not one-hitting all enemies or bosses. Because of different opinions they should have added this feature since the beginning...

Agreed. RPGs should be like D&D. Level Scaling is cutting corners and means devs dont have to do any work with actual leveling and enemy AI/new tactics but they only change the level number above everything's head. The level number is a gate that only "unlocks" enemy access (or you get one or two shotted) but does not upgrade mechanics. Everything combat wise stays stuck with level 1 encounter mechanics except that level number goes up and some player "skills" are unlocked.

A chicken can still destroy you in this game because you are always essentially in that same level one encounter under the hood.

I feel you. I am fine with the scaling so i don't care, but for those who would like to have it the other way around - it's just a bitchslap in the face.. Especially knowing that they could do it in Origins..

I like level scaling , even fighting against lvl 48 mobs , lvl 50 character can easily handle due to unlocked abilities , passive stats from armors and most importantly , player’s knowledge about the game . I think director didn’t want to one shot low level enemies by just punching . Even the game become rpg , seems they want to add some old Assassin’s Creed taste .

As for me , lvl 50 is the point where the game actually start . Like older Assassin’s Creed games without level , exploring the world without level restrictions and sneaking when necessary. Without level scaling , Assassin tree become useless in 70% of game area . Why should I do sneak damage if I can oneshot ppl with fist ?

Then ppl will complain this is not Assassin’s Creed anymore lol xD

This sounds more like a case against having levels at all rather than a case for scaling. Personally if they wanted to handle it that way then leveling should have been purely about unlocking abilities and stats should have been set. There should be no gated content if I dont become more powerful compared to low level enemies

Totally agree, level scaling makes combat boring as heck, all battles feel exactly the same. I can't stress this enough, level scalling (level matching) gives dynamic combat a lobotomy, flatlines the challenge and fun. It makes every stinking fort and outpost feel the same, turn each one into a familiar chore, like taking out the trash...no surprises, no freedom to farm lower level places or challenge yourself to tougher battles at any levels you like. And as OP said, it makes leveling pointless and consequently almost breaks the traditional motivation to play the darn game in the first place.

Scaling should be optional I agree. The scaling overall is really messed up in general though imo. It is almost like exponents were used instead of multipliers for the variables.

Is there leveling scaling in AC Origins?

It feels like the only point to leveling is a time gate mechanic
