How well does Odyssey run on PC?
Assassin's Creed is a franchise I've always liked, but haven't always been able to play. The last couple of PC ports have been... terrible. Black Flag stuttered like crazy, and I couldn't even get Syndicate to run beyond 10 minutes. Origins ran well enough, but ran worse than it should've.

Seeing the reviews I'm convinced I'll like Odyssey, and I'd love to come back to the franchise. But how well have Ubi ported it to PC, and what kind of issues should I be aware of?

System requirements won't be a problem, I'm mostly worried about the memory-related crashes of Syndicate and the general bad optimization of Origins.

Same as origins maybe a bit worse, no crashes here in 20 hours.

Amazing for me. Never played Origin so can't compare with that.

I7 4470 3.4ghz, 16gb ram, gtx 1060 6gb, very high settings, 1920x1200, avg. FPS 57 (playing with vsync on @60, so 57 average is pretty neat).

No crashes, no stuttering, no bugs, solid fps, amazing scenery / world, interesting characters, awesome game mechanics / RPG elements, H U G E living world. 10/10 so far.

Good to hear, thanks.

Runs fine for me. I'm getting over 50 frames, and usually 60 in most places maxed out everything...

AMD FX-8370
16GB RAM
GTX 1080
1920 x 1080 resolution

Could you please explain that? I don't understand.

He has a weak CPU.

People with better CPU's and the same GPU are struggling with this game.

No way in hell does he get those frames at max settings.

Fifty FPS at Ultra and 1080P sounds about right to me, assuming a game that's not 100% optimized. Even with an FX series CPU. I'm going to give him the benefit for the doubt.

Volumetric fog and clouds are big resources killers in this game.

An FX of that spec is old, but it's not totally useless. Assuming this game is mostly stressing the GPU and RAM(as with most recent games) and is spreading the CPU load across multiple cores, about 50 FPS should be doable. That's an extremely powerful GPU, I have one myself. It can easily "carry" a weak or outdated CPU IF the game is relatively light on CPU to begin with, or has good multi-core support. And I would hope given the budget that AC:O has both.

I had an FX-8350 and have a GTX 1080.

I couldn't play Origins at max settings, got drops to 40's and 30's, until I upgraded my CPU. Then I got 60 fps with still some drops to 55 etc.

So I still have my doubts to the claim.

To give you a better idea, but results are from in-game benchmark and from what I have see it's a bit more demanding than the actual game.
