Do I make a permanent choice after penelope shroud quest? At elphenor

I steal something for elephenor who tells me to sail across to the first island in the game and steal penelope's shroud. I returned and Elphenor tells me that the next task brings me far away to never return - is this a choice or mandatory?

If there is a decision which path is more for a warrior and not an assassin (less stealth focused) path? Please answer without spoiling story specifics please. Thanks

Kephallonia is only the tutorial island for the rest of the game. You are barely 5% into Odyssey.

You're often free to do and go as you please. You can cheaply respend your ability points, and you'll change your gear frequently depending on whatever stats you want.

Don't worry about what you should or shouldn't do. Just play the game how you want to.

Ok but I just thought there was a part of the game where if you chose one side you cannot choose the other. Was afraid i was there already.

No and no there aren't, you don't choose a side. The only relevant choices have something do to with the family.
