Is Epic gear simply stronger than Legendary gear?

Epic gear has 3 traits on it, and you can add a fourth trait through engraving. That means a full set of epic armor has 20 traits on it.

Legendary gear has 2 traits on it, you can add a third trait through engraving, and you get a set bonus which is one additional trait when you wear all 5 pieces. That means you have 16 traits, one of which is a set bonus.

On top of that, when you complete a Legendary set you can start adding it's set bonus to other gear as an engraving, so what you end up with is:

Epic gear: 20 slots, 5 of which can be a legendary set bonus. Legendary gear: 16 slots, 6 of which can be a legendary set bonus.

Am I overlooking something here? Because it seems like Epic gear is simply better than legendary gear.

I think that only legendary weapons may be better because they may have 2 golden traits and higher damage numbers.

I love that +25% bonus vs elites and bosses bonus ... also the +40% when attacking from behind.

I had the same thing, but instead of damage to athenian soldiers on it I had 15% more damage with daggers, and I had the 15% more damage buff instead of boss and elites on it destroys.

Epic armor is better than legendary.

Legendary weapons are better than epic.

And the loss in armor is minimal -- or you can use just add a +30% total armor engraving to any of the extra slots and now you're better than legendary in every way.

If you're looking for some solid epic armor, try the Restored Mycenaean epic armor you get from a quest line. It's the best I've found.

Epic Armors and Legendary weapons are the best!

Epic armor can have insane stats stacked together (I had an epic eagle helm with 15% extra warrior dmg, +10% crit chance when at full and low health, +25% crit dmg!) but often you are left wanting for more fashion which legendary sets excel at! Also after you hit level 50 you don't really lose out on much dmg by going for a full legendary set, even on nightmare difficulty once you spec out the right abilities then you become nigh unstoppable in this game.

Yep, epic armor is stronger than legendary

The only things legendary have over epic
easy matching look
possibility to stack 2 legendary effects only going on same armor piece with 1 from set bonus, another from engraving

I didn't see an epic version of the Amazon armor but then I wasn't really looking for it, either.

Fashions Creed: Runway is a pretty good game
