Erymanthian Boar Tips

After fighting this farting boar forever last night, I killed it on my second try this AM by doing this:

1. Be level 40+.
   
2. Fast Travel to Elis.
   
3. Go to blacksmith.
   
4. Buy best spear for your level.
   
5. Add 15% Damage to Animals engraving to it.
   
6. Add 15% Damage to Animals on anything else you can (I was able to add it to about 3 pieces of equipment, note that this engraving does NOT say that it does not stack, because it stacks)
   
7. Respec for Second Wind and Fire Damage.
   
8. Go kill the boar. Use your spear because it pushes him away.
   
9. Use the size of the battlefield to your advantage, it is larger than you think. Have him fart up a corner, then run away to the next corner. The farts will dissipate after a while, they are not permanent, just keep moving from corner to corner. Try to keep the center of the area clear of farts.
   
10. Like the bull, he is a lefty, so remember to always dodge to the left. Dodging right will take you directly into his attack. Another tactic is to dodge backwards, as he charges to your position, dodging backward will make him drift right of where you previously were, use this to line up a backwards dodge out of his attack, then dash toward him to hit him 3 times before dodging backward again.

TLDR: Spear and moving around the large battlefield is what you use for this fight.

use predator shots to headbutt it, evade when needed then pop hermes
continue predators and kill it

I finally got him down by going with my usual max poison and hunter damage, and taming one of the bears that hang around outside his arena. The bear distracted him enough for me to get off enough charghed and devastating shots to take him down, which took about 30 seconds. After an hour of trying to do this with fire damage and battlecry, I'm kind of annoyed at how quickly he died this way.

Poison. Devastating shot headshots and multishot the small boars. Worked like a charm for me. Also did it at level 14 first time visiting Phokis.

There's another boar later on, Anelyn. This one doesn't summon little boars, he just charges and farts poison clouds. He's much, much more annoying than the Kalydonian boar

Ah I didn't finish the hunt, still got this one and another one - forgot names. Well I will give it a swirl today on my lvl 50 poison build and see how it goes, will update when complete.

Fi when he farts posion the posion will not go away. Fight goes on too long, youll run out of battle space.

The battle area is way larger than you think it is, don't try and fight in the same area or it'll be covered in farts and you won't be able to recover enough in time. My fight lasted 3-5 minutes max, and at that time there were areas where he farted early on where the poison was dissipated. Listen for his farts, when you hear a fart, get out of there. Don't get trapped in a fart circle.

lol i killed it below level 30 on hard dificulty

Second one is Erymanthian Boar.
Killed it yesterday on Hard. Had only one engraving - "-1 adrenaline cost for Overpower Abilities". But otherwise I had everything legendary and fully upgraded including spear. Hunter built to the max, also used legendary spear with +100% damage -75% health. Battlecry of Ares(+50% damage, temporary invulnerability) + 4 Overpower bow strikes with death arrows killed him in seconds, it didn't even reach me.

hunter + fire damage and explosive bolts
ths shot is aoe so you dont have to hit the boar, only near it and it will ignite and burn
then just kite and keep the burn tick on
