WASD and auto-sprint
Skipped unity>origins though tried to catch up but found Rogue to be dishwater dull. How/why/when did this autosprint become a thing? What was wrong with the fastwalk-bind, and sprint-binds? why is it now walk bind 1mph and normal movement 100mph? Just me?

its called evolution of controls for an evolving audience. youre part of a VERY small group of people that would prefer the old fashioned controls. not saying youre wrong in how you feel, but most people dont feel that way with controls. having to use extra buttons to jog/sprint, takes away from simple coordination. easier controls, appeal to a larger audience.

old assassins creed games were meant for a hardcore audience, since Origins, the direction of the titles have totally changed, in handling mechanics and generally what you do.

in the old games walking helped with Blending. you dont blend in either of the newer games, so why would we NEED walking?

it would be pointless in origins or odyssey to incorporate an extra button for walk/run and freerun button. other than to appeal to the people who like intense immersion of WALKING thru city streets.

this speed running thing was annoying in origins and yet no improvements and the same ♥♥♥♥ inventory where scrolling is not possible with keyboard... lazy console port, my last AC.

I can't imagine someone wanting to "walk" all the time instead of running, in a world this big. But apparently some of these people exist...

Rogue and AC 3 are my faves. I hate auto run too, but the kids all think game characters should run everywhere. I think auto run totaly kills any hope of immersion but Assassin's Creed is no longer an immersive stealth game. It's just an over priced badly made witcher knock off now and I for one AM kinda pissed about it. And it's not such a small group as you may think by the way.

The world is actually TOO big to maintain a good involving story. Maybe stupid people like it because it's simple with nothing to think about, and lots of pretty moving colours all the time, but the more cerebral of us find the new AC games to be.... Left wanting.

Face it, all games have been extremely simple. There are bad guys. They want to control the world. The assassins stab them in the neck. This sums up literally every game in the AC series.

You're not some genius or high-class individual because you don't like the newer games. You're just a pompous douche.

I was actually wondering why jogging isnt the default with a bind for sprint anymore. Walking has always been niche.

Your evolution argument falls flat because the sensitivity of control is there if using a controller. Keyb/mouse users shouldnt have that control restricted.

EDIT: oh and btw, the auto-sprint is most problematic because on horses when free roaming, where youre restricted to galloping without the variable control of a controller.

+1

these R/iamverysmart types are so salty that there older favorite games ARENT these new games, so they act arrogant and idiotic. pitty people cant simply enjoy things taht are made for entertainment. the old AC games are great but are TRASH in terms of mechanics in todays terms.

does taht make new games PERFECT? no its doesnt. but these complainer types need something to feel holier than thou about.

its simple for me, i just look to these idiots to fulfill my superiority complex ahahh.

good comment man. def +1 from me
