Across the Border - Escort NPC wont move. (Little spoilers)

Anyone else having issues with quests like "Across the Border" where you have to escort a hooded person to another zone but runs back to the first checkpoint and just stands there.
What happened to me was when we left the docks at Athens and went over the hills towards the sacred plain of Demeter an ambush happened and the NPC ran all the way back to the front gate of the Athens docks.

And there seems no way to reset the quest like Origins had as far I know.

Normally this doesn't really bother me but now I can't find the last clue of a Cult member named the Master and he doesn't spawn until he's unveiled

The only thing Ubi says it Pick an older safe... AKA going back +10 hours of gameplay and redoing all that stuff.

Does anyone know a way to fix this besides restarting/reloading old save?

This issue has since been patched, but in case its still broken for anybody, its not required to unveil the cultists, because I still finished all the cultists without managing to finish this quest. The master can be unveiled through a different sidequest in silver mountain in atikka called A Life's Worth

it still wasnt fixed for me as of oct.31st, I found a workaround but it takes time depending where the NPC got stuck. Fire a burning arrow at the npc, then keep the bow aimed at the npc while keeping close. It starts going backwards in a slow pace, but eventually gets to the target place, forgot the place name. For me it took 10 minutes slow walking to target place, then the quest end got triggered. I think after some time I didnt even have to aim at her, just kept close

LOL OMG that worked, i didnt have arrows so I threw torches at the NPC. Thank you so much Bayard

Well, i bought the game after this had supposedly been patched and it is still bugged for me. Tried the Arrow/Torch trick and didnt work, he i stuck on a rock in the Capt Morgans pose and will not move. Spartan kick does nothing and i am not "Going back to an older save" and lose 30+ hrs of game play since the bugged occured. I have already beaten the game/killed all cultists. But the fact that there is a quest in log i cannot get rid of is annoying me to no end.
