Athenian Nation Treasures?

I've got a quest to loot 3 Athenian Nations Treasures, but haven't come across any yet and the quest only has a few hours left. I'm level 16 currently; should I have found some by now? Where should I look?

Forts contain them, they're purple chests when you tag them with Ikaros

You are looking for the purple chests located in the major fortresses. In every region there is at least one big fort guarded by Polemarch (there is also a repeatable quest to kill 3 of those for badge), a couple of Captains and a lot of soldiers. Even the leader of that region might be there sometimes.

Once I've completed a fort, like grayed it out on the map. Will the Nation Treasure ever respawn at that fort again?

Also on that note, if I kill a faction leader in a region, like the leader house icon is grayed out. Will a new leader be appointed to that house, or will that region always be leaderless from now on?

Yes, all faction stuff respawns. Supplies, nation treasures, leaders. It's the only way to start a conquest battle efficiently.

Any idea how long it takes for that to happen? Do I just meditate for a couple days, or is there a specific thing that needs to happen in order to trigger the respawn?

A conquest battle will respawn all that stuff, or just fast travel to another area for a bit.

I also thought so, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. What I'm doing is:
- Win conquest battle for the army that's currently NOT controlling the area
- go to a fort in the area
- search for Nation Treasures
- only find Resources Crates
I have two "Loot 3 Nation Treasures" (for both Sparta and Athens) but I am unable to trigger any respawn... maybe I have to fast travel outside and then inside the area again before going for the fort?

Most content resets after you do 3 quests. Any quests will count. I don't know if National treasures work that way though. Still, you should be able to find 3 provinces under the Athenian banner with no problem. Assuming you aren't really low level. Then you would need to sneak in, grab them and run like hell.
