The Plague
So.. the game is set in 431 BCE. At the start of the game, one of the first side quests you get involves saving (or not) a group of people from a village suffering from a plague. You later find out that the entire island is suffering from the plague if you choose to save them (not sure what happens if you kill them)

In 430 BCE, historically speaking, Athens becomes infected with a plague that kills off 2/3 of its citizens.. including Perikles. This is one of the major factors often cited as a reason Athens eventually lost the Peloponnesian War to Sparta. Did I just cause the defeat of Athens and end of the Greek Golden Age by sparing a family of plagued people?

I ended them. I noticed no sick people at all. So that's probably what happens: you save Greece. Check my screenshots; I don't feel good ending their lives, but I would have felt worse had I killed more people than necessary.

If you dont spare them the first island will be saved and nobody dies . When you later arrive in Athen there will be no plague. If you spared them then the plague will be in Athen when you arrive there. Also the little girl character from the first island, (Phoebe?) will die of it.

Huh. Well, I guess history shows us what the "canonical" choice was there.

Like you said , this is a year before the historical plague. Even if we prevent the outbreak in the short term it will still come later. We just dont see it in the game.

I know this thread is very old, but how does stopping the plague her and now change the play and missions of the game?
