Origins is a big smaller in sclae I think.
Skyrim is tiny.
I've not got too far into Odyssey yet but so far it appears the map is much bigger but perhaps feels a bit less rich in terms of content (not surprising considering how much sea there is!) I'm guessing some of the larger towns (Athens, Korinth etc.) will be as large as the main towns in Witcher 3 (Novigrad, Oxenfurt, Beauclair).
I was kind of hoping there would be the Ionian coast (i.e. western Turkey) in this game. Perhaps in an expansion...
This link has some more info on comparing the map sizes across Odyssey and Origins: https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/9krz9g/ac_odyssey_athens_vs_alexandria_size_on_the_map/
Yeah Witcher was massive but a lot of meaning less terrain but there again, every game has that. Skyrim was big and so was fallout 4 because they crammed it all into a smaller area to create less boring spaces (Witcher 3, Origins, Odyssey)
i think No Mans Sky is the largest now
