Playing as Kassandra feels wrong

Started to play as Kassandra and i must say i am kinda dissapointed.

I am Lvl 22 so i´ve already done some Questing and its clear as Day that Ubisoft only tested with Alexios and just put Kassandra (as Playermodel) in to appeal to a broader Audience.

It starts with the Skills. On lots of Descriptions you find something like "Alexios ..."

Story wasnt checked. First time out of the Animus and on returing to the Animus they talked about "Returning to Alexios"

Romance Options as Kassandra feel very awkward since Kassandra says the same Lines as Alexios would.

Must say i am really disappointed by playing as Kassandra because Ubisoft dIdn´t put much time in this besides Creating Kassandra Model. And even for that they didnt invest much time. Kassandra looks like shes got a Male Body with a Female Head.

Why did Ubisoft even bother to put Kassandra in when it just feels like you are playing as another Dude. For a Team as big as the AC Crew i would have expected more.

Does anyone else feel the same way ??

And plz try to keep the SJW/Misogyne Attitudes out of this Thread.

Its never written anywhere in the game thus far, nor have i read it exept today where players say "she's canon"... but no link to the source of that statement. So i highly doupt that statement until prooven otherwise. I havent played ass ass vikings yet but neither in origins nor any game before i read of kas so eh... and honestly, as long as they pull it off to not be confusing to the player, i dont see the point of arguing "kas is canon so kas > alex" .

I havent regreted any second to not choose Kas .

the canon story to odyssey is the story of the novel to the game and in the novel kassandra is the eagle bearer.

thats why she is canon, alexios is the way more fitting character given the time and place the game is set in though.

Yes there will be a canon represented in the novel. It features Kassandra and her journey. But in the game you decide your path , there is no right or wrong way.

Would you be surprised if I say Kassandra is the main character and Alexios is the one made to appeal to a broader audience?
Because it is like that, Kass is the main, Alexios is the "other option", and all romance lines are about the same exactly because it is as per player optiojn (so you can be hetero or ♥♥♥♥ or both if you so want, up to you to decide).

I find it weird they designed it like that because canonically, Kassandra was the original Eagle Bearer and allegedly, Kassandra was the supposed to be the only character until they tacked on Alexios as a secondary playable character. Though by how you describe it and how 90% of the games marketing was done, I'm sure Alexios was actually the first pick.

Otherwise Kassandra could be that way since she has a more Amazonian-kinda vibe? Not really sure

Hey Raisti,

Just saw the subject and peaked my interest and thought to comment as well.

I feel ya, definitely needs some work. I love this game so far, but yes, its not perfect, but loving it, playing it and enjoying myself figuratively and literally, lol.

I'm playing Kassandra too. I am making the best out of it and still having fun, but yes, I could be having bigger fun, if you know what I mean ;) haha lol. So right now, I am currently using the "Bare-Chested & Oiled" transmog so I can see most of her nakedness because I'm such a big perv. I would play her naked if I could, now that would be fun. As far as the romance and or sex in the game, I am romancing everyone, young, old, male, female don't care, lol, just having fun. However, I do wish we had some Witcher sex scenes to go with the romancing, hello? I so miss that. Could do in next game perhaps, just have a turn on/off filter for choice.


After all, Freedom Reigns when options are available for choices to be made!!! You all can quote me on that :)

Thanks, that explains a lot... its funny to have a novel absed on a game defining the "canon" rather than the other way around but hey... and thanks also for explaining and not just throwing insults. I still dont get the "hate" alexios gets. One might like either kas or alexios more but hate? thats just effin weird. (i dont mean dislike, i mean real hate).

Personally i think it would have been better off if they went with one character but on the other hand... im happy i can play a character with my name :) ... And the people saying that Alexios was tacked on dont have the slightest idea how much work it is just to do the whole VO twice...

For me, playing alexios is very fun, i let him have fun with the opposite sex but dont dabble in the gay part. I havent finished the game obviously and i dont want to spoil myself but so far it looks like the devs pulled it off to give the player choice, yet keeping the whole story the same.

Its like food, some like more pepper on it, others more salt, yet its still the same dish - and they managed that so far :-) (Also makes me hopefull once i come around to play the viking creed - yea im rather busy with life so im a few years behind :D )

My first playtrough was with Alexios and I always choose male characters first.

Why? Because since I am a male myself , when I play a game I wanna feel that its me who is the main character and since I am a guy I always pick a male character. I dive in fully into the story and environment.

Whats funny about that? If anything, it the only way that makes sense to do it. Any game that gives you choices makes it impossible to determine a canon ending unless you have something outside the game (like a novel) to define it. Was the mercenary male or female? Did they spare or kill the Wolf of Sparta? Did they do X, or did they do Y? You either have no canon at all, or have no choices in the game at all, if you are only limited to the game.

I don't mind her, both actors did a decent job with subpar scripts IMO but with kas as a captain of a ship it annoys the crap out of me with her shrill screams at crew like a wailing banshee, beyond that ...pixels killing pixels and loots!

I tried first to play as Kassandra and found it awkward and forced. She didn't fit the fictional Greek world and seemed out of place. Alexios' attitude and slight silliness matched way better with the actual fictional tone the world set. Kassandra's overly dramatic and "try too hard" presentation and demeanor fit her role better as the npc protagonist.

ROI on Alexios was totally worth it with over 2/3 players choosing him for their play through. Seems marketing analytics had Kassandra correct.

What is canon and what is headcanon can be two completely different things.
Kassandra is canon, despite whatever the majority think or not (and I dont know how much of the playerbase actually chose one or the other or if it even mak a difference for the majority, if it is not just "pick whatever that is and move on" or "I played as Kassandra now I want to play as Alexios just because" (or vice-versa) ... and also, it (players choice info or other players opinions) will not change my mind either.
