Any Benefits To Aid Sparta/Athens In Battle?

Currently I can join attack of Spartans on Phokis, or join Athens to defend it. Is there any true benefit to those other than current quest rewards? Like can I save the entire world as Athens or paint it red helping Spartans? Can I truly annhiliate one faction by helping the other? Do factions become my enemies according to it? Does this have any effect on endings?

I afraid that those battles will just pop up forever no matter whom I help. Sad for me, coz I'd really like to help a nation annhiliate the other and this having a true effect on my ending.

well not realy fare in the game but i dont think it realy matters who you join if you can do that.

So I assume best advice would be helping whoever gives best rewards like a true mercenary. There is truly no benefits to being a true Spartan nor Athenian.

Yes, we are playing as a mercenary. We dont care who wins the war.

Play like a true mercenary: Help athenians win the battle, then kill the governor for the quest... then help them again because quests :)

As far as I can see there is zero difference outside of different flags and unit skins.
