Only Medium with GTX 970?
Does anyone else with a GTX 970 have the issue of only running Medium graphics? For being the recommended card I would've though I could at least run on High if not Very High.

I have 4 GB of VRAM, 16 GB of RAM (Only 8 GB free though according to Task Manager), and a AMD FX 9590 CPU which is better than the recommended one.

Just curious if this is a game issue or has by card/computer gone caput.

Game is cpu bound. The 970 is fine, it's the FX 9590 that's bottlenecking. Putting in newer gpu won't make much difference.

I have a 970 and run it just fine on High. Have you tried turning down shadows and occlusion?

What resolution are you running it at?

Recommended specs are for 30FPS at 1080p at high preset.

^^^ plus the 970 is now 2 iterations behind current gpus, honestly if you have the money upgrade to a 10series gpu, my local best buy has 1070tis and 1080s for less than $500 and 1060 6gbs for under $400 you can probably scoop one up off of ebay for way cheap too.

A mid range card from 4 years ago can't max new games out at 60fps... Shocker!

The 1060 is only slightly better than the 970, though. The 6 GB variant seems to average only 5 fps higher in most games at 1080p max settings--only 12% better on userbenchmark scores. The 1070 is a nice upgrade, however, being 56% better on user benchmarks.

No one said that the 970 should run this game at max settings and get 60 fps. However high settings and 60 fps? Yes, it should be able to reach that. The game is broken and it needs to be fixed. Don't see why its running so bad since its a copy and paste from origins. You would think they had enough information from origins to make a pretty decent pc port.

Your hopes are set too high for the little 970 with new releases.

Even the 2080ti is having a hard time at 1080p.

The game is broken.

Fact.

It's demanding, broke would suggest not being able to start the game.

I have a GTX 970, I started playing yesterday, I avergae around 45 fps on Ultra High but with two settings dropped. I dropped Volumetric Clouds to Very High and AA to low. My fps just shot up. My benchmark averaged 29 fps in Ultra High, but after switching the above two options down, i averaged 45 fps. I also have a i5 4690 and 8gbx2 1600 ram. Nothing special. Also I havent updated drivers.

[Note: I am still on Kephallonia. Other cities may result in lower fps.]

Drop the clouds to medium and you will have 50% more fps :P

No problem at all running over 60 FPS with a 1080ti at 1920x1080 with every graphic setting maxed. It rarely dips into the 50s. Mostly 60-65 FPS or low/mid 70s depending on where you are at, what's going on at the time. Game is most definitely not broken. Optimization could be better, but the graphics are amazing when maxed out.

The issue with the 970 is that it only has 3.5 G vRam. Just not enough to load all the textures unless you lower some setings.
