First Combat - deal with thugs

The player and thugs will not move. Tried everything (full hud / no hud). Was able to target thug, but cannot move the player. Anybody else encounter this (using keyboard)?

I am having the same problem. The only thing that works is targeting and block

The workaround is to zoom out and the fight commences. Sheesh, that was really obvious wasn't it.

What isn't obvious is how to zoom out.

It's not a bug. The game will tell you to lock on to the thug and them swap targets. After that you can move and attack.

Well, I lock onto the first target. The screen prompt tells me to switch to the next target. I folow the instruction to switch targets, but it doesn't change the target. Just comes back to the original one.

You can zoom out using the mouse wheel after locking onto target. That will initiate the fight.

Actually I found that if I backed up and to the left a couple of steps before I first tried to target I could then target either enemy and things progressed normally after that.

ok, I'm really confused. Either my system isn't strong enough for this game or I'm really dense...both of which are probably very accurate at this point.

I'm stuck at the opening confrontation with the Kurush thugs. I've read the threads. The prompt tells me to switch to thug 1 (without the shield) Used the middle mouse button and switched. It was pulsing. and he's the target But I can't do anything now.

I can't move while the blue instruction panel is still saying ' switch target' ... I've tried E, V, F, shift RMB, Shift LMB, nothing works.

sounds great... but I'm frozen into place. Q parries, but I can't move other than that. S,A,D doesn't move him either as long as the "switch target" prompt is on the screen.

what's the trick to get out of the prompt mode?

What i did - was just scrolling on the middle mouse button ( worked on both tries)

After locking to your target of course.

I have encountered this problem when using a Logitech 4 button trackball mouse. I found the solution was to download marblescroll a pc utility that gives the trackball zoom ability. Once done I used the trackball zoom facility and the game continued flawlessly.
