Talos keep following me
I cant really progress missions because every main quest I do he keeps coming like he knows where I am so I can't clear the quest gaining lvl and killing him, whats up with that? I thought that should be random encounter not the AI knowing where you are all the freaking time

Ähm yeah, they are called Bounty Hunter for a reason. Sometimes the wander the general area and sometimes the track you. I got multiple times surprised by them. In one Fortress 3 of them showed up. So yeah its part of the game

Those are designed to stress the player out and funnel them into the marketplace to purchase "boosters" or other game "fixing" garbage. Other devs, such as Monolith and by their own admission, have detailed how games with microtransactions break games by design.

From a business and shareholder stand point, there has to be mechanics placed to frustrate and entice those purchases (creating their own problem and selling the solution) - otherwise the costs to design and develop a marketplace to begin with goes to waste. A mechanic where a difficult enemy stalks you and will utterly destroy you until you match the level is one way. The in-game mercs are often compared to souls enemies but are just spongy with poor AI and not even close and are a clever way to pull this frustration off.

But of course there will be people trying to excuse all of it saying the mindless grind and sponge is the same as progression based on skill, so you should just "git gud!" They are either community managers or fankids oblivious to their being victimized with predatory monetization by their favorite AAA shiny toy makers. :steamfacepalm:

Really? I got 36 hours into the game now i dont even looked at the shop. I have no problems with upgrading gear or Level wise. And i dont do there "daily" quest from the message board, i only play the story and go to every question mark on the map and clear them out. I dont see the need to go to the shop and buy boosters or something.

And about the bounty hunters i dont find them difficult even if they are 2 level above you. But if you really struggle with them you can cheese them easy. The have the awareness of a Fish, run arround 2 coners and the loose you and you can ambush them again.

i'm playing on hard and was able to get rid of him, try to do some damage via assassination then climb to a rooftop and have him follow you and Sparta kick him over the edge few times, this is a good tactics for the earlier mercs (less than level 18)

and no, the mercenary system is brilliant, i don't think it has anything to do with micro-transactions because you can always pay the bounty easily with very little money (except the 1st bounty with talos)

Oh for god sakes people ♥♥♥♥♥ about some much stuff on this game. Pay the damn bounty he wont follow you anymore and still shows up on the map. Finish your stuff to level up and then go kill him or get better at dodging and just flat out kill him to begin with.

I've got passed this point already. People don't understand what I ment. Yea bounties are easy after you progress but this one specific mercenery which is a way to teaching you about this mechanic is broken imo. You are stuck on this little island early on and you have to do quests on it in-order to progress. I didn't say I couldn't avoid him and run, problem is that because the island was pretty small he was going everywhere I going and it was annoying to begin with when you can't even kill him and all you can do is hide and run and its just something that blocks your progression early on for no good reason
tankanidis Oct 7, 2018 @ 5:17am
It took me 10+ tries to kill him with him being higher level and i not having most skills unlocked. You NEED the regain health skill, and to be ready to parry / dodge to re-use it and whittle him down.

You can keep avoiding him until you want to try it out

Later on you can take on 2 mercs at once and its really fun and keeps you on your toes

i did the following maybe it will help you out too:

just hide in bushes near the logging area high fense at nite...take your bow out while you in sneak mode in said bushes and shoot him couple times in head(when he close enough to you, closes point) then he will come to were you are when he close enough use your assassin hit on him... at this point his hp is fairly below the mid point. cross you toe and go at it. once he dead the bounty is gone.

Just run around and explore and hide from him till you level up to 5 , and then you can kill him, thats what I did
Wikumos Oct 7, 2018 @ 12:47pm
just learn the kick, and then fight him somewhere where there is a high ledge and kick him over the side, he'll take HUGE damager or die. If ledge isn't high enuff to kill him, no worries, he'll come back to you and you can kick him over a 2nd time for the win!
P e a n u t Oct 7, 2018 @ 12:48pm
just get better at the game lol
