Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Statistiche:
Mandatory ship lieutenant?
I have just got a new lieutenant for my ship, Tekton, after a quick quest on a small island.

I am full with 3 active lieutenants and honestly I don't want that blue one but for some reason I can't dismiss him to make room for someone more interesting. Anyone having this issue? If this is an issue at all. I have the feeling that you can't do without him (pretty sure he unlocked ship figures) so your choice is actually limited to 3 lieutenants...

really wish they would have had a storage chest tbh in this game I hate having to look at the same non dismatling pieces all game :steamsad:

Higher level soldiers also have better rarity and the odds of knocking them out is tougher but if you have the right gear and abilities it's possible.

Remember that you can viably recruit any soldiers from any level, but doing so requires you to inflict the knock out damage to knock them down first, at very high levels you can't do that obviously due to huge level gaps, so you make do with 3-5 level gaps that you can still damage, and cheese them using a dock and your ship to trap them and damage them...
You can also fight them normally, and finish them with a Spartan kick that allows you to recruit them afterwards. So you don't need to knock them out with 1 attack.

yes but you have to be carefull when you do that, i more then once killed my target, also a legendary one i really wanted for my ship, because my kick bashed him against a wall or a other thing like a tree, a pillar or a bookshelf for example.

There is a storage Box on The Adrestia (your ship) at the very back. Took me a while to notice it there, maybe it came with the last update.

I can’t get rid of Tekton either. :steamsad:

Oh man these are good news! I am glad they are listening to the community! Now if only we can convince Ubi to let us get rid of Tekton. Why cant I just make him walk the plank. I might just not recruit him next game.

Actually he would have been useful, if there was a level up mechanic for our lieutenants. You know, the more ships we takedown the better they get, maybe increase quality or level up their perks and maybe earn new perks. One can dream.

Yeah it would be cool if they leveled up will ship kills. Better armor and outfits for the crew. Even the ship itself, like adding decks and different sails, I think Black Flag has a similiar mechanic.

ship upgrades in odyssey do visual differences to the ship, balck falg did not add additional sails or decks, the level of visual upgrade differences for the hull and other stuff is on par with black flag ones, in some speciefic areas of the ship even more then in black flag.

and in the patchnotes for the latest patch it is stated that at least liutenants for the call to arms abilitie scale with the player level and have more health now. :)

I saw that which I think is a step in the right direction, but I was mostly refering to lieutenants when at sea. Like for example I picked Odessa at the early start of the game and she still has 2 pips in ramming Damage and 2 pips in Fire Power for Javelins.

It would be nice if the more I use her, the more pips she will get up to the maximum of 5. That could help with getting more attached to certain lieutenants even if their interaction is non-existent, instead of just discarding them as soon as a higher level shows up.

Hell I am even down for actually having the possibility of losing lieutenants in boarding actions, that way you always have to make sure to have some in reserve, and make scouting for high level ones worth it, since it will take less time to train them.

I dont know, I think it would be a nice addition to the naval game.

i agree with you, except for the open for loosing liutenants in boarding actions part, in my 74 hours of gameplay so far i only found 1 heavy athenian and 1 heavy spartan legendary liutenant although i do inspect ever single one i come across with the bird, i found more legendarys for other soldier types though. I am a kind of fashion player, i want my character and my ship + crew and liutenants look awesome and as i want.

If i would loose that 2 liutenatns it would be a nightmare for me and i would be more then just sad, that would annoy the hell out of me because if i want to keep the look i have to use purple or blue ones which do have less boni then a legendary.

Yeah I can see how it would be a pain for people that want to have a specific look for the ship and crew, especially if you want to rock a full Athenian, Spartan, etc. aesthetic. Which I am planning on doing one day, since the Athenian Navy ship skin is up for sale at Oikos for Orichalcum, and I grabbed without thinking twice.

For now I like my lieutenants to look totally different from each other, adds to their back story, plus I only recruit ones that either gave me a memorable fight or had an awesome quest to it, of course they better have good stats if not they are going to reserves.

This is were having them level up would be amazing though, because then I can train them up and use them more often.

Wouldn't mind it having as a game option that players can choose to toggle or not. I always believe the more freedom and choices the devs give to players especially in single-player games the better.

yea, freedom and choice is always awesome. :) I already do a spartan look right now, we do not have a spartan ship skin yet but the standard one has at least similar hull colors and the elite spartan crew skin i use has the standard ships symol on their shields anyway. :)

now that i think about it allowing liutenants to die could be problematic for certain recruitable characters in the late game which are very unique wich means you can not replace them at all. But if it would be a choice rather then a forced addition i would not say anything against it. :)

Ha yeah, I know what you mean losing my favorite lieutenants that are part of story and quests would suck. But if X-Com ever taught me anything is to learn to let go and move on. Lol!

Let's see what Ubi decides to do with them in the coming months with the planned content expansion, at least some level up mechanics would be nice.

indeed. :)
Same Issue, Tekton stays. Probably they don't want you to dismiss him before you can assign him. A fix would be to make that action unavailable for the tutorial, but as mentioned before, you can get much better ones really fast, especially Evie if you bought that one edition.

What's also interesting is that the color / "rarity" of them changes.
Tekton is just a normal guy for me, while Odessa is purple.
