[Phantom Viceroy]

I'm using the default Steam controller configuration and I get through the battle at the Hot Gates with Leonidas but then it's working for the very first fight with the thugs with Alexios. It was working fine in Origins. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your time and effort.

i had a similar issue when using a xb1 controller. When fighting the thugs the tutorial said use right stick to swap targets while locked on. I had to use my mouse to get past this part. I still can switch between targets while locked on (unless i use the mouse) but my controller works fine for everything else.

Yes. I had to use the mouse, too. Now working ok.

Unfortunately, AC Odyssey doesn't appear to be one of the "good" games that allows both joystick and mouse input simultaneously.

That is, when the joystick is pressed, the mouse control is disabled. :(

The dream of the Steam Controller (and it works like a dream) is that you have the camera and aiming precision of the touchpad, but that only works in games that don't disable mouse inputs when gamepad inputs are detected.

Blk_Widow9, do you think it is still possible at this stage of development for Odyssey to not disable mouse inputs on PC when a gamepad input is detected, either by default or as an option?

I'm also running into a small annoyance. When running with the character say down a trail, I cannot use the touchpad to look in a new direction I run to. The camera keeps looking straight ahead. I have to stop, adjust the camera, and then continue. It was not like that in Origins which worked great with my Steam Controller.

I have a similar situation. Run the game and the controller works everywhere, but when it starts the first fight of Leonidas, the controller turns off.

UPD: steam controller works if you connect it via USB

Thanks for the tip Exander. I used the mouse to get past it. I'm waaaay beyond that, completed the main story line, accumulated millions in mercenary wet work, had at least three romances but no wife, sitting on level 60, over 120 hrs in. And still loving it.

The Problem is, that the default configuration is either mouse or joystick. the option you are looking for is in the configurations tab choose mouse-like joystick as your right stick, which I recommend for all games that you play in controlermode
