How to lock on target using a mouse ?

hi everyone...I am nwebie, I am stuck in the very first game when leonidas faces kuruxus..there is a tip to press a mouse to lock on target. I pressed the mouse and the scroll many times but no effect. Need help please...

The 'SHIFT' key locks your target and you use the scroll key on your mouse to switch your lock to another character. If you have to unlock, you hit SHIFT again.

Crap, it might be. It's entirely possible I changed my settup for convenience.

It's scroll wheel to lock on. You don't really need it though. If you are trying to activate a skill (like Ghost Arrow) you don't need to lock target. Read each skill description to learn how to use that particular ability.

Yup, click the mouse wheel to lock on by default.
