Fate of Atlantis question...
I don’t understand what’s actually going on... Why are there humans in the underworld? Why are they trying to leave when they’re in paradise?

Persephone was abducted, "forced to marry" (you know what that means) and imprisoned in the underworld by Hades.

She is the goddess of vegetation, so in the game, she made her prison beautiful and peaceful, and took the deceased heroes into it. To enforce peace and order, she mind-controlled them, forced them to serve her and guard her mind-controlling devices.

And that's why the way she governs the Elysium Fields is bad, in the context of AC games. Because just like Persephone's freedom was robbed from her, she robbed the freedom of the heroes in Elysium. Partially because she is spiteful, partially because she believes she knows what is best for them.

And there is the Adonis problem. Adonis isn't dead, and his alternative isn't just Tartarus like the other people in Elysium. His alternative is the realm of the living, where he could again be with Aphrodite. Just like Persephone wishes she could leave and reunite with her mother Demeter. But Persephone is in love with Adonis and is keeping him prisoner, just like Hades did to her. Only she made Adonis's cell beautiful, but it is still a cell.

I don't really get what the dead of Elysium wanted, because it isn't very smart of them to want to leave like Adonis does. But I can see why they would want Persephone to leave the throne and stop controlling their minds.

I don't know exactly why Hecate and Hermes are there. In the myth, they were supposed to rescue her (depending on the version of it), after Zeus ordered Hades to let her go, but if that's why they went there initially then things really didn't go as planned.

Elysium is the good part of the underworld where heroes and good souls went. The underworld, or "Hades" is the bad part of the underworld. Civil war is brewing between two spitted lovers, and Persephone is a queen with a golden spoon up her twit. So she treats everyone like crap. She even said " I have to remember from time to time, that Elysium was made for me to be My Paradise, not anyone else's."

Ah okay, I get it now... Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this!
From what i have gathered from the DLC Hekate was sent by Persephones mother, Demeter to serve as a friend to keep Persephone company in her prision. Hermes has fallen in love with Persephone so he remains there to serve as a willling slave who will never get her affection

That’s really sad... Maybe Persephone doesn’t like his voice. 😂 I know I don’t, sounds like a male version of Marge Simpson...

There's only a small portion of deceased people live in Elysium. Most of them want to be reunited with their loved ones who passed away as well. Or maybe people just don't want to be controlled by her. I would say that Ubisoft could explain the whole situation a bit better.

Honestly my biggest problem with FOA story-wise is Phoibe's (brief) death. Her initial death was as tragic as it was sorrowful, do not get me wrong. But it's hard for me to feel anything about the death of someone who is literally already dead, without any explanation of how this functions.
