setting free the humans under control

how do i tell who are humans that need liberated in Elysium from the other soldiers. everytime i go to liberate someone they end up being a soldier. where are the humans that you need to liberate. they give you the general area but i have no clue where to find them. thanks.

Which quest are you exactly talking about? There are 2 quests about freeing humans from mind-control, the first one is pretty straight forward (you have only to take out and then cure 2 soldiers in a specific location in the far south), while the second one goes something like "free 8 humans in the region "A", 8 in region "B" and 8 in region "C".

Either way, the "humans" you are supposed to liberate are the soldiers themselves, you knock them out and then you use the sceptre to wake them up.

Most of the enemies are humans, either knock them out (non-lethal assassination) or unequip one of your weapons to be able to fight them with fists. Humans that you "kill" with fists will actually remain alive and once you take care of all nearby enemies that have detected you (if any), you will be able to liberate those knocked out humans by approaching them and pressing whatever button it says.

ok great i tried just using E and in most instances they are too strong and just end up fighting me I will try the just hands approach.

Paralyzing arrows also work. You only need to *finish* them with nonlethal damage, so you can lead off with normal arrows and switch to paralyzing when they're at very low health, for instance.
