Where does this game fit in the ac timeline?

Hi, I had a blast playing this. Got over 120 hours of playtime. This is now my
2nd favorite ac, Unity is my number 1. I always play ac because of the story and visiting different places throughout history. But I'm wondering where does this fit in the AC timeline. Assassin's or Templars are never mentioned. Did I miss something? To be fair the AC universe parts were always the weakest part of the story, but still I would like to know where this one fits in.

At this moment this is the first story in AC timeline. In Legendy of the First Blade we meet Darius, the proto-Assassin, first to create and use hidden blade. So you can treat Odyssey as "prequel" to Origin. It's almost an irony that Odyssey is more Origin of AC universe then game named, Origin. We meet first proto-Assassin and Cult is a proto-Templars.

Assassins and templars are not mentioned because neither of them exist at the game's period. It's set in 400 B.C.E. The first assassin group was formed nearly 40 B.C.E called "The hidden ones" but the assassin brotherhood as an institution formed in 1090, the Templars in almost the same period. There were groups of people with kind of the same ideals as assassins and templars before of course, in Odyssey they're the cult of Kosmos, in Origins the order of the Ancients, and the hidden ones as the early assassins.
It's not complicated at all.

Technically Eve was the first proto-assassin in lore, along with Adam.

Freedom fighters for sure, but I'm not sure if we can name them proto-assassins. That was reserved for persons that we find in assassins tombs in ACII.
