Hello,

You can adjust the level scaling options in Odyssey. Light and medium are both options if you don't want enemies to match your level.

- Medium allows the content to be up to two levels below your current player level.
- Light allows the content to be up to four levels below your current player level.

To do so, you can check out our guide located Here[support.ubi.com].

It's called scaling. There are options in some menu where you can raise or lower the scaling but enemies will never be more than four levels below your own level.

Level scaling is on by default in this time, unlike AC: Origins where you can disable or enable it. It is to prevent you from being too powerful, trust me you're going to thank the lvl scaling further in the game. For example: the Arena stays at a maximum of lvl 50, I'm LVL 97 and when I go there for a fight I 1 hit kill every enemy, that's so boring. If they were my level it would be more of a challenge.
You can adjust the lvl scaling in the menu though, but they can only go as low as 4 lvls below you.

Then go to options and change the level scaling. Its not exactly rocket science.

what *is* the point of levelling up. just give us all the skills and equipment from the beginning of the tutorial. better yet, get a trainer and turn on god mode.

The default is meant to be the normal way of playing this...that is, everything levels up with the player so that the challenge doesn't decrease by much as the game goes on. If you want to just steam-roll everything, change the settings in the appropriate menu. That's why there are options, so that players can tailor the game to their liking.

Besides, if the game didn't level up at least a little, the amount of XP you'd get would be almost nothing, and you would be stuck at level 25 or so for most of the latter part of the game. Considering that you need to be level 50 (at least) to play the new DLC, that would be one long slog to the end. But, if you want to be like Markos...

If the quests didn't lvl up with you, you'd be getting little to none exp for completing them. It's not a big deal, games like Skyrim tend to do the same (except from specific enemies that are at a certain lvl and don't lvl up with the player).

????????????? And your point is? this is the only game you know?

I see a lot of hate, aggressiveness, resentment and bullying in this thread.
not a single coherent perspective or explanation for this nonsense

"that is why you have the options"
"It gets boring when you're level 90"

fanaticism?

I'm asking what is the purpose of leveling up if all the game, enemies, mobs, quests level up with you
Mad★Paladin May 5, 2019 @ 12:46pm
if you read through the sarcasm, your question was answered. relax, it's just a game.
Dinosaur Oatmeal May 5, 2019 @ 12:47pm
I believe the purpose of this is so you can do side-quests and receive beneficial rewards no matter what level you're at. For example, in Origins once you were level 40 there wasn't a purpose to do level 12 quests because the rewards didn't help you a lot. Since Ubisoft isn't releasing a new game this year they implemented level scaling to lengthen this games lifespan because it allows all side missions to be completed no matter what level you are. Basically, more content once you hit the level cap. I'm not completely sure if this is correct, but it's my speculation. :)

I understand your point.
So sad... The game could be awesome.

all the games I know, you level up, the low level quests are easy. Final Fantasy Online and many others.
It is a bad solution.
If the quests gave some gear, clothes, pet, mount, exclusive you would do the quests anyway, then you would have to raise money to level up that gear-item at your level

I understand what they tried to do, from your perspective, but it seems to me that it is not the solution at all. It ruins the immersion that is already compromised because there is no character creation and I have to play as a man or ugly Tomboy
Sentient_Toaster May 5, 2019 @ 1:23pm
You get much stronger relative to similarly leveled enemies as you level up, because you can take advantage of a greater variety of abilities and bonuses and have seen many more items so you can pick and choose and min-max.

e.g. at level 30, you may need a critical assassination to guarantee a kill on a polemarch or leader. At level 70, you can guarantee a kill on a leveled mercenary or leader or polemarch with a regular assassination. I don't know that I could have easily taken a level 25 mercenary as a level 20 character with level 17 gear, but a level 99 mercenary didn't last very long when I was level 94 w/ level 91 gear.

Leveled enemies also mean leveled gear which means more resources. It costs ~450K drachmae to train up an engraving type from 5 -> 10, it typically costs over 11K iron to upgrade a single sword when you're level 9x, the top-tier ship upgrades cost an awful lot as well.

As some said, you can adjust the scaling. But even if you keep enemies and quests the same level as you, you DO get more powerful as you level up with access to more abilities, equipment, etc... Some enemies will get easier even as they level up with you.

It keeps the game challenging, but at the same time still feel like you are progressing. Most players don't enjoy 1 shotting enemies and want to keep a smoother progression. If you don't, then you are more than welcome to adjust the level scaling in the options.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
