First Episode - Definitely worth it.
Second Episode - Nope, it was crap.
Third Episode - Definitely worth it BUT, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending with no real conclusion to the story.
So, I want to say it is worth it if you dig the game very much, and want something more, but don't go in just for the story, go for the whole package, like, do stuff, explore, keep questing, etc.
I didn't think the second one was crap, I just thought it lacked the depth of story that the first chapter possessed. They replaced that with a bunch of boss fights, which I think is find for the middle chapter of a trilogy. I have barely started the third chapter so I can't really comment on it at the moment, though I will note that some of the missions (like clearing out every single base) gets repetitive after awhile.
I never felt like I had to clear out the bases in the main game, but here you have so many goals which are likely to get you found and alert the camp, that's it's difficult to do them without clearing out each area. After awhile it feels like 'go here, spend half an hour clearing a camp, now go there and do the same ...' and it kind of killed my passion for the last chapter. I intend to get back to it eventually.
Overall, surely worth purchasing with discount - and maybe even without it.
The first DLC was nice but at the same time kind of a bit contradictory. People in Elysium should be happy. You go to Elysium because you were a nice person back in the world and that is your reward, so why should you be upset ? For me it does not makes any sense. The story should have been different.
The last DLC ( Judgement of Atlantis ) is also disappointing because at the end, when you cross the door, we do not really know what happens, what all those replicas of our character really means in the entire game and how is affecting us. But the most annoying for me was the Forge.
You are creating a legendary weapon that it is the same regardless. It would have been much better if the options would have been divided like this :
- Warrior ( sword, mace or heavy blunt )
- Assassin ( daggers, spears and staffs )
- Hunter ( bows )
So, that way you would have ended with every single opportunity to create your preferred weapon and not limited only to 3 kinds that out of them, the only one worth it is the Spear.
I would have chose : sword, spear and a bow and be done with it.
Also, by starting a new game, you go back to that DLC and you could have create a different weapons and at the end, you will end up with practically a whole arsenal of legendary weapons in your gear.
I simply hate that for every single game that I have played. always the best weapon is provided at the end, when there is practically nothing else to do. I do not understand why has been done this way for the producers. Those weapons in ACO should have been provided in Elysium at least or way before, in the same place where you enhance your spear so we would have use them for a long period of time. Providing those weapons at the end is more like a reward and a trophy and personally, I am not interested in trophies. Just my 2 cents.
Instead of fighting gods i would have liked to have seen and fought all the creatures from the jason and the argonauts, clash of titans sagas (all incorporated into the base game) not mention have pegasus to get around the map on.
While i see myself definitely getting the base game, fighting gods and gifted soldiers does not really float my boat.
Then you will hate Fate of Atlantis.
3 worlds worth of it.
Ubisoft builds amazing worlds, but this DLC feels over-the-top and out of place from the base game. Warps and portals, to hell and back. And everything in between.
What game am I playing?
