You can call it again a couple of minutes (I don't know the exact time, it might be less than that) after it dies. Then the game will pretend it never died.

Mmmh I see. Makes sense! ;-)

Yea I bear ate my horse at like lvl 10. Knocked me off. and then I got into a battle with the bear. Killed it. turned around and saw my horse dead on the ground. and was like RIP horse. So I called for it thinking it might get up. and it said I could not call it. RIP horse. Walked further away and called the horse and it came running. and I was like ahh you big faker.

can always restart from a save just before

No, Ruges is right. They are fakers. Horses never die, they are too smart for that. When wounded, they play possum and that's it.

Good horse, good!

The game is just fantasy, it's not a simulation nor hardcore (at all), the horse disappears if you go 30 meters far away and you have not it in your line of sight.. it moves away and disappears unfortuantely. Much much better in Origins instead.
Horse is crucial for creating those very cool cinematic escapes, very curious that Ubi Quebec did not realize it...

Phobos will always come back around when you need him, even after an accident! He's quite faithful. :steamhappy:

Lies. I was in these ruins and these big nasty duds started whapping on me. So I started to run out of there. and I am whistling, "HORSE, get over here horse" And Phobos is like its dangerous in there, I am not going in there. And I am like your mothers a mule. He did not come when I needed him and he was not very faithful. :steammocking:

He saw what happened to the horse/camels in Origins. You could call those into a fight, set them on fire, and they would run around and burn all the enemies to a crisp. Phobos is not dumb enough to fall for the same trick.

Worth noting that Abraxas the Immortal Horse behaves identically, AFAICT -- it can also die, temporarily, for what's probably the same period.

The only two horse skins that behave differently, AFAIK, are the winged ones. Pegasos and Riddle skins don't let the horse fly, but they do negate fall damage.

So I just got Abrax, and I was like, oh hey lets go set stuff on fire. To my disapointment I did not set the town on fire when I was running threw it. So I ran to a wheat field hoping to set that ablaze. Nope. Hoped off and started waving my torch around thinking that might start a good fire. Well I hit abrax and he caught on fire. started running and burned to death. Abrax burned to death...

I accidentally set my horse on fire and it died. It was resurrected from the dead a while later.
