No Thessaly?
Why is there no Thessaly on the map? They use Malis, which seems to be a more obscure regional part or tribe. Most maps of the war have it as Thessaly. Thessaly is Jason and Argonauts. So why not use that? Any historian know the reason for this, or was it a mistake?

Thanks for contacting us.

The map is a little different from the real life map, with some areas condensed or removed, which I imagine was due to simplifying the world or allowing areas to be within reach.

It could also be the case that there's simply not enough going on around Thessaly at the time the game is set. The great rise of Thessaly as a power seems to occur in the 4th Century BC, which we are on the cusp of as the Eagle Bearer.

Yes but the mythology is equally important in the game, which does a brilliant job of balancing the two, and well worth it to bring in Jason. The rest of the map is pretty accurate and that stands out a little. Oh well. Or at least add some historical location notes for one of the most important quest narratives of Greece and all time.

Rhodes would have been nice aswell, but i guess its to far away to fit the map.
And they also dont have ''Mount Olympus'' on the map....which is ridiculous for me.

Why should they even have "Mount Olympus" in the Game?

Because it's the most known landmark in the whole region - to the point where Greeks placed their whole gods pantheon there?

Though the lack of Mt. Olympus will be fixed in the next DLC.

You know that on mount olympus there isn't any interesting to find. Because it is only a mount.

Werent Olympus a forbidden area back then though?

Thanks for the added discussion, guys.

I can certainly pass your feedback around this on to the team.

I know it's a bit late but it was quite the opposite. Olympus was a sacred place for ancient Greeks. It was a place of worship and pilgrimage. In its foothills there is the ancient and sacred city Dion. Dion took its name by none other than Zeus himself (Zeus in Greek is Dias). More so Dion is related to ac odyssey, because as Thucydides mentions it was the first city that Brasidas and his Spartan army reached after crossing from Thessaly to Macedonia and that's another important characteristic of the mountain. It's the passage between Macedonia and Thessaly. The mountain till this day is still a place of pilgrimage.
