Do I actually need cultist clues to kill them

I’m curious since sometimes I would get a prompt that says I’ve killed a cultist and I didn’t even have their clues yet so I was wondering if I were to use the power of YouTube to locate the location of the cultists without getting their clues

Yup! Aside from story-related cultists, which spawn only when certain story milestones have reached, you can kill pretty much every other cultists without getting any clue whatsoever. However, due to the gigantic scope of the open world, getting clues will help you reach them faster. If your not in any hurry, then its possible to kill them without clues!

That’s cool haha it’s just another way to play the game without getting guided from the game xD

You definitely can. I was sailing down in the lower left area of the map when some ship started pestering me. I avoided it, it came after me again. I avoided it again, it came after me yet again! I smashed the fraggin' thing... and promptly took down one of the inner circle!

Sadly, while the peons have clues about their masters, the masters have no clues about the peons.
