Is the Battle Tiger a good ship? What is it better/not better than?

ive had terrible luck with it, with most of its guns requiring explosives. plus the ship setup doesnt seem good, atleast thats my opinion, having a hard time getting past sector 2 with it wtf

I had terrible luck prior to having it. Trick is to switch over to lasers soon. The ship perks aren't all that great, but it is first ship I took past sector 5, Made a full run from sector 1 to beat the final boss only to have a random fleet that was incoming before the final battle finish me off just after the final boss spawned.

In short, I like it... it is a mid game ship that imho is used to easily unlock late game ships.

yea its ok if you manage to find guns for it early on, if not your super screwed lol

It is a pretty strong ship, has some nice unique weapons. The mini nuke launchers are very powerful but use a lot of ammunition. The trick is to not overly use the mini nuke launchers and be ready to turn them off or swap them out for back-up weapons from storage after firing a shot or two with them. The mini nuke launchers also seem to have solid health on their shots and can get through point defense by themselves but also can be used in conjunction with your normal nukes. A lot of the modules on the ship are also pretty solid throughout most of the game like the shield generator which doesn't recharge very fast but has a lot of capacity and gives armor too. My last hardcore run I won with the ship and used the mini nukes for a lot of the run with the rest of my weapons set-up being non-explosive weapons. IMO this is probably one of the strongest ships in the game.
