Close Combat: The Bloody First

Close Combat: The Bloody First

Anyone made a 40k mod for this yet?
I've only played a couple of battles so far, but it seems like a 40k mod would go really well with the game play of this game. I also noticed that it says they have modding tools. Was just curious if anyone's made a 40k mod yet.

If not, would anyone be interested in making one? I don't know how to code, but maybe I could help out with data entry or some other easy repetitive task type stuff?

Could be good. Hope it happens at some point.

Unfortunately, it seems like there's not a lot of interest... Still I think it would have been cool, oh well

Well, Slitherine have business connections with Games Workshop so i don't think it's entirely out of the question that a Close Combat style game set in 40k universe could happen. It very well could one day!

I'm not going to hold my breath but i'm cautiously optimistic that it will happen before 2030! :)

It's a great idea, and definitely doable with the modding tools. Just a lot of work to do that kind of full conversion!

Cheers

Ya sounds like it beyond "hobby" level. Maybe, Slitherine will do a stand alone 40k Close Combat style wargame some day like Vargas78 said.

As far as modding it into bloody first... my ability's end at click the drop down menu and type in the stats lol Maybe I should play around this the modding tools, but I bet they are beyond me.

It was worth a shot anyways... maybe someone will get an idea from this.

40k = warhammer 40,000

On second thought I figure I should add more details to this answer just in case someone with the ability to actually make any of this happen comes by and reads this, maybe it will spark an something.

Warhammer 40,000 is a table top war game, which is why I was thinking of it while playing Close Combat, if you youtube 40k battle report you can see what its like. It's very fun.

There's also a bunch of computer games from first person shooter like Space Marine, RTS like Dawn of War 1,2, and I guess 3 too, even though no one liked it. There's a Left 4 Dead type too called Deathwing I think. Oh, and a 4x style one called Gladius.

Slitherine has a couple off the top of my head too, Santus Reach and Battle Sector? I think that Battle Sector is from Slitherine, that might not be correct though.

The lore is... lets just say extensive. You can youtube that and do nothing but watch videos about it for 6+ months lol.

How are where do you edit textures. Most of the games I have modded use .PNG
I can't really find anything in CC. I see SD4 and DDS files. I wanted to see if I could create a hummer with a .50cal for fun but I am kinda lost.

The textures you are looking for are located in Close Combat - The Bloody First\Data\Battle\MODELS folder from where you have steam installed, example of my full path is
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Close Combat - The Bloody First\Data\Battle\MODELS

They are .DDS files, so you will need a converter for your graphics program to view and to save file. The .SD4 files are your models plus information CC needs to work in the game.

A Mod guide and the Tool to open the ,SD4 file can be found here.
