I'm not going to hold my breath but i'm cautiously optimistic that it will happen before 2030! :)
Cheers

As far as modding it into bloody first... my ability's end at click the drop down menu and type in the stats lol Maybe I should play around this the modding tools, but I bet they are beyond me.
It was worth a shot anyways... maybe someone will get an idea from this.
.
On second thought I figure I should add more details to this answer just in case someone with the ability to actually make any of this happen comes by and reads this, maybe it will spark an something.
Warhammer 40,000 is a table top war game, which is why I was thinking of it while playing Close Combat, if you youtube 40k battle report you can see what its like. It's very fun.
There's also a bunch of computer games from first person shooter like Space Marine, RTS like Dawn of War 1,2, and I guess 3 too, even though no one liked it. There's a Left 4 Dead type too called Deathwing I think. Oh, and a 4x style one called Gladius.
Slitherine has a couple off the top of my head too, Santus Reach and Battle Sector? I think that Battle Sector is from Slitherine, that might not be correct though.
The lore is... lets just say extensive. You can youtube that and do nothing but watch videos about it for 6+ months lol.
I can't really find anything in CC. I see SD4 and DDS files. I wanted to see if I could create a hummer with a .50cal for fun but I am kinda lost.
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Close Combat - The Bloody First\Data\Battle\MODELS
They are .DDS files, so you will need a converter for your graphics program to view and to save file. The .SD4 files are your models plus information CC needs to work in the game.
A Mod guide and the Tool to open the ,SD4 file can be found here.
