Good to hear this might be worked on more. I found myself immediately wanting more decline on the pitch, just helps you get a better lay of the land around a unit when you are placing/moving them. At least there is a hack that allows you to do it for.
I couldn't imagine playing TBF top-down, lol.
You guys need some fresh blood.
Most of the beta players must have been old guard Matrix community members if you need the release to find out these preferences. I mean it took me about 1 minute to be disappointed by the limited use of the new 3d environment. Even if some of the processes are using the 3d environment, limiting the views turns it into a 2.5d player experience at best.
OTOH the visuals are the least worry - as shown by the easy mod - it is how the engine uses the 3d environment (ai etc.). That’s core game.
I'm an old-time player of this game, back to the first version in 1996. Always wanted a 3-D version, and am thrilled to finally get it.
I've modded, and am very happy with the closer view. As other people have said, getting 3-D without taking advantage of its possibilities seems self-defeating. I liked the old-school UI in earlier versions, but there doesn't seem to be any good reason to stick to a slightly adapted topdown view.
Also, when you can, give us a higher res for the soldiers and vehicles so they look good with a zoomed-in view!!
I think its because people want a better view on the battlefield and also be able to see the details of the unit without scrolling around so much on the map.
If the developers designed it so it will support the views and increase model textures, sure.
It is not about zoom, it is about angle and zoom.
Once you go 3d with a game in this scale you make use of being able to judge terrain, firing lanes, cover etc from the ground.
If you don’t make use of your 3d environment, you might as well stick to 2d.
You’ll scale down Armored Brigade to the same level as CC and update the UI, done.
