As I lay down my first home, the initial thought was the ability to teleport to my home as I get further and further away due questing and traveling to new areas, or general grinding. It seems there will be much more zones, and obviously the option to purchase different homes in other zones, which brings up the ability to teleport back to my homes I have purchased in various zones.

I see that there are Portals in the Farmlands (which I don't know if I have reached this content yet, or it's unreleased), as well as other Portals in other zones, which begs the idea I can at least portal to different Zones. My thought was having the ability to craft a Portal so I can portal to my various homes as well.

Wherever direction you go with portals or teleporting, I would definitely like the ease of getting back to my personal homes the farther away I am. Especially since I have laid foundations for my personal items, crafting stations, etc.

I know kindred mentioned fast travel becoming a thing with bonereach (I personally hope something like placeable portals, but I'm not sure what the plans are exactly).

Afaik you can enter all portals currently ingame

When am I able to unlock the portals? I think I completed everything in the Farmlands. And it looks like the only next possible place to go to is Windless Woods

I mentioned bonereach 😉, which is the next major zone, but it's not out yet. Afaik that's when fast travel will come into the game as well.

All portals are available right now. The one in the middle of the Farmlands is opened through a quest. The one on the East coast of Farmlands only opens at night.

I think this was mis-interpreted early on in the discussion. I was thinking existing Portals in the game would be a means of traveling between these zones.

It seems these are only quest related areas.
