Queen Wasp Stinger

Is the Queen Wasp Stinger a percent chance drop or is it supposed to drop after each fight? I've been trying to complete a couple quests that require it but the item hasn't dropped - not sure if I just need to keep trying.

i don't know the answer but, i've had it drop 100% and have defeated her about six times over two characters - it should even be listed in the 'boss loot' or whatever that displays on screen after you defeat it.

Also, i created a new character two updates ago, i believe, and killed her twice today (stinger both times) for two quests that required that stinger - just as a note for 'old character / new update' still functions type of thing.

hmm i wonder if its something up with my file then.

When you kill her, does it display the loot under her name? on my screen it displayed:

Toxira the Hivemother
her depleted health bar
then Boss Loot: honey ore, stinger thing

i'd ask if its just lost in your inventory, but guessing the quest log would've been updated as well...

no it just shows the honey ore and then whatever stingers are dropped from the giant wasps that she spawns, but not hers - I'll try again later and see what exactly it all shows.

Only other thing i could think of is that maybe you have to have the quest actively selected / tracked - or did you already have it active?

maybe its coded that way so that you don't receive an abundance of unusable quest items, should you kill her after completing the quest.

Such a weird fluke! The boss loot automatically gets added to your inventory so it doesn't get left on the floor. It wouldn't matter if you are on that quest or not as she always drops it. I wonder why that wasn't working for you.
