Classes/Skills?
I'm gaining XP in them but no idea what they do (classes esp, what does it do?) I can sort of get the skills the unlock recipes but what do the class skills do?

From what I understand there will be skills trees in a later patch. For now it is just the classes!

idk what it means to level up in one, though, more damage? more recipes?

I think that the trees were supposed to be in this update, but had to be postponed to a later date. I guess they left the classes in as they were done. So based on that I am guessing that levelling them right now does nothing, other than allowing you to level them. Once the skill trees are in you will get the points per your level to add to the trees.

It appears that leveling the classes at least increases the corresponding weapon's damage min and max. i was leveling scythe from 1 with a Fey scythe and my initial damage was 3 - 5, level 2 was 3 - 6, then 4 - 8...or something like that

i wasn't paying close attention and didn't want to dig for the post they put out on classes, but i think each weapon has the damage you can do and potential damage in parenthesis
Scythe Mystic Level - 15 / 25
Damage: 21 - 29 (38 - 53)
the left side being where you are currently, the right / parenthesis side being that weapons unlocked / met / achieved potential

The class system is exactly the same as the previous weapon skill system. The only difference is that instead of leveling up sword, dagger, and shield separately, you now only level up the warrior class. So if you usually use swords and get the warrior class up to level 15 and then find a cool shield you are level 15 instead of starting at 0.

The classes correspond to damage. Zodd explained it correctly. So while you could use a level 15 sword if you are level 1, you aren't using the full potential of that sword (what's in the parentheses).

And yes, more will come with the skill trees. We had quite a bit of them done, but not all so we didn't want to release partial class trees.

When the skill trees come out, will some of the skills also give crit chance or will that be food only?, I miss the 40% or so crit rate on the shade daggers :3

I have a long way to go then lol I'm still only doing 1 damage to rats on magic with the staff I've upgraded twice. I have a house though, so the rats can sit pretty. I'm farming.

There are some passive skills that may do this!
