How to craft maple/dark oak planks?

I've just gotten to lvl 13 carpentry skill. And was hoping i would get the option to make maple planks. I just learned the maple bow blueprint. Might be missing something.

I thiiiiink I didn't get maple planks until carpentry level 15, so you might have just a little bit of grinding to do before it lets you make the planks for the bow

No problem! When I was trying to level up on carpentry I grew a lot of cotton for bows and slingshots, and if you've met the guy on Azura island who hangs out on top of the rocks you should have a recipe for something else that's relatively entertaining to collect ingredients for and that does a fair job at leveling you up - but yeah, enjoy!

Carpentry 15 sounds about right. Luckily with the upcoming housing update, you'll be able to access a lot more recipes to train your carpentry!

Update: I got the recipe for maple planks (at lvl 15 at least), then at lvl 17 oak wooden planks. I really enjoy building my home now!

In the next patch, they have zero level requirements. After lots of feedback (like this) and looking through the design, we decided to change it!
