[Spoiler] Orbital orders and the station

Hi, I could understand the point of orbital orders early game, I could go along with the idea that those upstairs needed to test the fledgling economy. Now that i have the station, they make no sense whatsoever.
Sell gadgets to the orbital station, why? it doesnt need them, they cost money the station doesn't need to spend, and having decided that i wasn't going to do that, I find that the fine, the earth based colonies pay, doesn't go to the station, it just vanishes into the ether.
Orbital orders from a station i control, simply no longer make any sense, if they still serve a purpose then it's passed me by
