How do I transport people from one elevation to another?
Probably a dumb question, but the tutorial didn't cover this.

So, like the title says; is it automatic or do I need to build something or what? (In this case, on the "Cascade" cliff, I wanna be able to use the whole thing but idk if the differing elevations are an issue.

People travel without any infrastructure within the city/cliff in this game. So you don't need to build anything even in Cascade.

That said, eventually your citizens happiness will depend on "transportation" factor which is just a number. People will still be at work, but just to satisfy this number, you will have to start building "personal drones" or other transportation infrastructure; again location doesn't matter it's just a number.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but didn't wanna set up everything just to have it not work. Thanks.

Yeah. Well, I didn't want to sound too unromantic. :steammocking: See below how citizens are traveling, LOL.

Again, locations don't matter, but when you really start to need to up your transportation numbers, "bus terminals" will come in handy. (+7) But these will need at least two within the cliff before it counts (so technically +14) so good to keep this in mind when planning. I mean, it could be next to each other, but it does look nicer if you place it meaningful locations, plus you can ride one too.

Transportation is just a number, even one bus station counts.

Click on the "bus station" and it says: "... To start work you need at least 2 stops..."
Trust me, you do need at least 2 within a cliff in order for it to start counting. It's good to test it out in the sandbox. :cozyspaceengineersc:

It would be nice if this kind of detail were to eventually become a feature. There are quite a few of the Cliffs that are split and it has often bothered me a bit about people getting across chasms and cliff inclines. Perhaps just a matter of having visual bridges or elevators etc added to the cliff graphics just to add that little bit more immersion....?

It would be a nice feature to be able to build small bridges anyway. Walkways that can can stretch across the water areas and impassable areas.

Perhaps the old habits of SimCity which you start with building roads to everything... LOL
I'm guessing the cliff has no space to waste (?) for roads so everyone flies in a personal drone, at least you have to build those.

Agreed. Elevated walk ways or stairs, these would not use up precious cliff surface so it might work without changing too much of the game logic. Also if the subway was actually underground for the cliff, not a bridge to another cliff; I was fooled.

Must have been recently added, it wasn't there a while back. Nice to know, it used to work solo in the past.

Edit: I just did a check, there is a lot more info on the UI now than there was in the past, like the outdoor fields saying the yield is higher than the indoor ones. Must have happened last patch, it's a nice improvement.

for information, busses also travel between cliffs, it doesn't affect the worker that go to a different cliff thought, i think? not sure, but yeah, busses can be seen going back and forth between cliffs
also, both objectively and gameplay wise, there's more than enought space to lay down some basic roads (ie : conecting landing platform to bridge, and one main road plus a could of side roads) and stuff, that look coherant.
