F**k the true final boss of this game. SPOILERS

Sacrifice your save data to fight a boss whose final form has arbitrary invincibility using mechanics that goes opposite of what you're normally supposed in a schmup. That's some MASSIVE dickery right there.

On the other hand, the entire game leading up to it is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good it gives me an excuse to play through it again.

I'm not losing a third time I tell you what.

Doesn't it only have protection during player invincibility so you cant just ram into it? I can't remember it being invincible at other times but only fought it a few times so far. Assumed it's sorta like other shmup TLBs sharing bomb/respawn invincibility to force you to dodge their pattern.

Yeah it has brief moments you can't dive back into it.
Also, for the last phase where you wait out a longer line of bullets, on the 3rd or 4th ping, try to dive in. Still though, it is quite intense. :) Best of luck!

Yeah I just had the save wipe thing happen to me and I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ furious and demoralized. I can't believe how mean spirited this ♥♥♥♥ is. This is the first shmup I've ever played so I don't know but is this kind of thing common in the genre? I guess in most shmups maybe you can't even level select so probably kind of similar?

I'm gonna take some time away from the game but I might be done. I just don't think I can deal with orb guy/hand lady boss again (probably numerous times if the next boss is really hard). That boss had me in full I Wanna be the Guy levels of just wanting to break everything around me.

Anyway I'm sorry for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game, I was really having a blast until the endgame. I just feel like the game spit in my face and I just needed to vent a little.

It's not really typical for shmups, then again, usually you don't get to pick up where you left off, you start at the beginning every time, the genre is kind of about mastering the game's mechanics and memorizing the levels until you can beat them on one continue (called a 1cc, one credit clear) and keeping that in mind I didn't think much of having my save deleted, then again, just don't do that, please. But if there's any game where it can be excused it's a short one like this.

The thing that makes me mad about it is that you're suddenly thrown into a situation where the old rules of the game no longer apply. I didn't even know you had to ram the thing until it was too late.

Thankfully, yeah, it's not a long game, and it's a lot of fun, but man, I was pretty angry upon realizing what happened.

Yeah, this ain't it, chiefs. Not only has this been done before; the other games that did it (not counting jokes/fakeouts) had it naturally as the very end of their narrative and did not have more gameplay afterwards. It's telling to me that all of our replies are even in the "yeah that's rough buddy" vein rather than "well get good" too. Still, I agree with IGgy, may as well be this one if any.

EDIT: I gave it a little more thought and it makes me wonder if I'm alone in this singlehandedly reversing my opinion and making me not want to recommend the game to people I know who would not appreciate this, after singing its praises to everyone for a full week? I still enjoy the entire other 99% of the game and plan to come back to it, but uh, yeah...

Finally did it, took about 17 hours. That was some ride, for sure.

Favorite part of the game is definitely 1-4. All the non machinery enemies start showing up and that part where you're on the surface of GreenOrange and the music just goes nuts is so damn good. Also when you bust through and get the "This is GreenOrange?" message and the music picks up again. So damn good. This game has a lot of super cool moments though. Dream sequence was also great, mainly for the emotional moment at the end of it.

Least favorite part is only getting one chance at the final boss and the game not being clear enough about the consequences (save wipe). I like the final boss fight but not telling the player their save is gonna get trashed is total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Also I love the music so much. I think it elevates a lot of the moments in this game.

Overall, this was quite the first shmup for me. I might check out a few more.

You can change the palette in the options menu under visuals. You get to choose between four palettes, green orange, blue orange (previously called color blind mode but it's not really a color blind mode) gray orange and red blue

Yeah, all you gotta do is delete your save! (or use a backup you happen to have)
