No, my friend. It ran fine out of the box. You can also try downloading proton-GE and see if it helps. It's very simple to get and there's tutorials on how to do it(very easy).
Also I tried out the pod racer and it worked for me. Don't forget to pick a community controller scheme.
Even games like phantom menace which requires a CD I was able to get working on the Deck using lutris and a ripped mounted CD. This device has endless potential.
The only problem is the audio during cinematic. (Example: Play cinematic like intro with have no sound working). But audio in the menu or in the game has audio working just fine.
I'll be more than happy for someone to help me to fix that.
