Customisation - limited credits
Hello!

It's been a very long time since I've played this game (only on the N64) and I'm just looking to be reminded about how this worked. I can vaguely remember something like credits or upgrades being limited, making it hard to switch pod racers late in the game.

Assuming that it's the same on the PC, how exactly does it work again? Can I upgrade all of the racers by just repeating races over and over again or is there a limit and I have to make choices early on?

-Upgrades are consistent across all vehicles. If you buy an upgrade as one racer, everyone has it.

-Truguts are limited due to the limited number of races in the game. To get the most truguts possible, play every race on winner take all and DO NOT LOSE.

-Parts degrade over time until you have finished every race in all 4 circuits, at which point their durability is locked. It's best to buy your final upgrades after finishing the last race.

-Purchasing pit droids will repair more of your upgrades to full after a race. If you want to go fast sooner rather than later, buy parts via the Junkyard and have your pit droids fix them up.

-If you end up not having enough truguts to max out your stats, don't worry. A quick google search will reveal a key combination exists to give yourself an extra 5k truguts when you need them.

Heh. I honestly don't remember any of that from the game. Though I suppose that being younger I paid very little attention to all that and just focused on the racing. A particular race or two near the end of the game were quite difficult for me back then.

I'll try to keep all that in mind and also to resist using said key combination unless I get stuck. Thanks.

No worries, man. I played this game as a kid and I didn't know most of that stuff until a couple days ago.
