Steam Launch Questions

So my 3 Questions are!

1.When we can download this game on steam do we still need to use the ROM Launcher?
2.Can we transfer chars from the normal servers to steam onces?
3.Can we play on steam servers if we havent download the game on steam?

I ask because it be pointless a bit to download it on steam if we still need to use the rom launcher and if we can switch/play on the steam servers from there as well.

Well if they do it like they did with Perfect World/ESO (PW which has since been removed from Steam since the P2W is so bad it got all negative reviews) you'll be able to download it from Steam but be forced to use the launcher to actually enter the game.

I'm not saying it *will* be like that my only reasoning is they're both old MMOs and both use a secondary client to download. If that remains you'll have to use their launcher much like ESO.

I don't think anyone can answer the other two questions besides a GM or mod more than likely. Although I don't see why former players wouldn't be able to play on the new servers because they would be cut off from a lot of players otherwise. I have never seen an MMO launch on Steam that only had Steam user specific servers ever.

I haven't played this game since probable 2010 or so so I have idea about the current state of the greedy cash shop, however if they have server transfers available now I don't see why you couldn't transfer characters to the new server(s). If they currently do not have transfers I wouldn't expect them to bring them out for Steam's launch.

Those are answered in RoM forum.

No "Steam only server" is opened. Just one/two new servers, You can connect to all servers (new and old) using Steam client or using old client, no difference here.

No char transfer, all must start from zero in the new server. Although shop currency diamonds should be possible to transfer from old char to new server.

It would be pointless to allow old characters to transfer to the new server. They have too much gold and probably already very good gear.
So if you allow the transfer to a new server then they dont even need to open a new server

Was more of they still dont say a date so i already want to play rom now but when it comes out with new servers is witch over there! so i wont be high geared or have alot of gold.Beside there is a limit of how much itms/gold you may carry over from server to server.

Ad. 1 Yes, because as far as I know, RoM launcher will be use to select your game language and server region.

Ad. 2 Unfortunately, it won't be possible and you will need to create a new character on new server.

Ad. 3 Yes, you will be able to play on new servers with current stand alone game client. Naming new servers as "Steam servers" is little misleading (they are just starting with the Steam release), because they are not limited and all players (Steam and no-Steam) will be able to join them and vice versa.

Why do they feel like rolling out this game on Steam after 9 years? A final cash grab before the title gets dumped? I mean I played this game for like 2 or 3 months after its original release and for the time* it was pretty p2w and greedy.

*Nowadays ppl would consider it softly cash shop because times changed.

Anyway I was SHOCKED to see this game appear in the upcoming list of new Steam titles. Like what are the devs hoping to achieve? This game was outdated both in graphics and mechanics 9 years ago already... did they completely overhaul it?

Yeah I covered it. Only you left out the part about how greedy/P2W the cash shop is.

we are in the month that given in offical site but we are still waiting for it pls can u make us know that game will come in this month?

I have waited in great anticipation for this not even able to maintain interest in any other games, I have researched the wiki day after day for little tidbits that will immerse me further into the RPG. I have refused purchase of steam items on sale that i want because i assumed my time would be spent in RoM. If it does not release this month Im likely to opt out of installing on principle. It should not have taken this long to get onto steam, and it should not take this long for release. Also new steam servers should have been an obvious idea unless you are just simply allowing the few fans posting the guise of influence.

I give up in the end and jsut start to play the normal roms on EU server.If they cant give us a Date for a mmo that haves being out for 9 years in the same months then F it.

I'm super keen to play, but I'm gonna wait for the new servers - it sucks that we haven't been given a date yet, but hopefully they'll announce something soon.
