Help Needed! WIP Walkthrough/Guide - All Achievements, All Endings
Hi all!

I'm actually playing on the Switch version, which doesn't have achievements, but I've looked at the Steam achievements list and the text has actually helped me a few times.

I have started a doc where I am attempting to outline the possible routes including achievements and endings. PLEASE BEWARE SPOILERS! Nothing in this doc is hidden! I highly recommend playing the game several times on your own to try different routes without using a guide. This is a story game and you will lose a lot of the experience if you know what choices to make ahead of time.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-u4gTrLDim4EVx73ZcqxV14I_d5swEgvOPuMOIVkCjc/edit?usp=sharing

If you have things to add - either corrections, additional content/hints/directions, etc - message me or comment on the doc or in this thread! (If you are commenting in the thread you may want to use spoiler tags.)

Also, if anyone has access to the audio clips of the endings from Steam, please let me know if you can provide any information regarding the endings. I am working with the knowledge/assumptions in this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/808090/discussions/0/1751276729202586815/

Thanks all!

Wow, your guide is so thorough. Thank you! I think I might follow it to unlock some more achievements (I have never been to Aleppo, for example, and never actually figured out how to get there).

BTW, I have access to the ending audio clips, but I'm afraid I don't have anything new to say regarding them. However, if I obtain some new info, I will definitely bring it here :)

Thank you! My priority right now is definitely tips on how to make it to Italy, either via Greece or Croatia, that's where I keep getting stuck :(

Regarding the ending audio, I just wanted to confirm that the list given in the other thread is accurate regarding 2 endings in Athens, 1 in Serbia, etc, or how much of a guess they are....

Made it through Edirne and was able to update the Greece section a bit. Still no luck in Patras.

It is basically a list of the ending vocal messages that can be found in the game files, so yes, I think it is accurate)

I'm not sure if this belongs in this thread of the other one - it's not really tips, just the way that I achieved one ending, but maybe it can be useful :)

So, the Vintimille ending. Basically, you need to arrive in Vintimille, try all the ways to leave it and fail every time.

More specifically, how I got it:
Nour arrived in Vintimille with Hamid. They found a Red Cross camp, but I told her not to go to it (because there was a chance that they would be sent back to Greece) and instead try to cross the Italy-France border. There were two options: go by seashore or through mountains.
First, Nour and Hamid took the seashore path with a group. I told her to agree with their plan to relax at the cafe in Menton. Then cops arrived, arrested the whole group, including Nour and Hamid, and sent them back to Vintimille.
Second, Nour and Hamid tried the mountains, but when we learned that the path they took would just lead them to another part of Italy, I told them to go back. The cops arrested them and, well, sent them back to Vintimille.
Third, Nour and Hamid once again took the seashore path, alone this time. I told them to wait and see, and, guess what, they were caught.
Fourth, it was the train with expensive tickets, like you've already described in the walkthrough (except I told Nour to hide, but she nevertheless tried to act Italian). Caught and sent back.
After that, Nour just gave up and said that she was going to request asylum in Italy. Can't blame her, honestly. I think there should be an achievement for that ending, called something like "A Cursed Place" - is it actually possible to get out of there? :D (I guess the mountains and "Go up" is the way?)

Since I'm not playing on Steam, a few Steam-achievement-specific questions:

- For "both Yaras", does it have to be on the same playthrough?
- Do any of you reading this have the "Majd's father" achievement? I got the conversation Chamza mentioned (comment isn't showing up anymore?) but there must be more to that achievement, right?

Also, this is just a route I haven't tried yet but would like to know for the guide - If you meet the "outstanding guy" (which I haven't done yet), can you still meet Utku, or do you go somewhere else after taking care of Yara?

Endings I've gotten so far, for the record:
- Germany
- Orestiada (bad)
- Croatia (bad)
- Sweden
- Bulgaria
- Turkey (expulsion)

I know how to get:
- Vintimille (thank you peony_red!)
- Bulgaria (expulsion)
- Calais (well I know how to get there, not sure about all 3 endings yet)

Still haven't found:
- Athens (2) (perhaps if you run out of morale after failing Patras and she decides to stay instead of going to Idomeni?)
- Idomeni (2)
- Lesbos (running out of morale?)
- Little Syria (2)
- Austria (is there a different Austria ending? When I ended in Austria I got the same ending as I did in Germany...)

Great, thank you so much. I think that makes it a minimum of 4 playthroughs for all achievements except for "Majd's Father", because you can't go to Idomeni and Bulgaria on the same playthrough, and you can't get Emmanuel and the ogre on the same playthrough.

I bought this game on ios, and I keep encountering a bug that makes the ending audio clips unplayable :( I have gotten the Sweden and the getting caught by police ending so far but couldn’t listen to either ending. If it’s okay, can you send the audio clips to me so I can listen to the endings?

From the vocal messages it seems that two of these three endings (the ones where the camp is mentioned) are the same except for Nour's relationship with Majd: in one ending they're fine, and in another she leaves Majd for Hamid. Guess this is the result of jealousy expressed by Majd when talking about Hamid. The third ending (the bus one) doesn't mention Hamid at all.

Since in the vocal message for this ending the connection is really bad and Nour says something about a rescue team, I guess this is the "dying on the raft" bad ending? Maybe that's what happens when you go with Mohammed's smuggler and don't buy a flashlight? But it's just assumptions, I haven't actually got this ending in-game.

I guess it's okay if you own the game, but I'm not really sure how it can be done :) Can one send personal messages on Steam? Maybe you can send me one and we'll discuss it further?

So regarding the "Majd's Father" achievement.
In some games I've played before there were achievements that required a very specific set of actions, and hints from the developers themselves were usually a big help in finding those. So I kinda went ahead and asked the developers for a hint :D
The answer was:

"Then: Meet Majd's Father is, indeed, the toughest achievement to get. You're on the right path: getting the discussion about hospitals in Aleppo is the first part to it. But after you've seen it, you must reach a place in Austria where Nour will find a very quiet retreat, then pick the right dialog choices to have Majd open up about how exactly his father died".

I assume that "a very quiet retreat" is a hotel in Austria where Nour stays at some time and she and Majd discuss how quiet this place is. IIRC, in my game Nour found this hotel after she ran from Ibrahim in Austria; she was travelling alone, without Kelly. But I'm not 100% sure.

I had been thinking about reaching out to the developers, great job! Since I don't have it on Steam, I can't confirm when the achievement pops, but I will try to get this conversation on my next run.

That leaves the Athens, Idomeni, and Little Syria endings for me - I find it so hard to be mean to Nour, so I'll have to try to be more aggressive with her money and morale to see if I can get her to give up in any of those.

Thank you so much for all your help, everyone! I took a break from obsessing over this game, so there are still a few bits I need to double-check, but the guide is pretty much ready to publish once I flesh out the Calais section. I don't own the game on Steam so someone else will need to post it in the Guides section.

So I was able to get to Calais and get an ending there. In Marceilles (I got there by going up the mountains in Vintimiglia, haven't tried the train with sunglasses yet) Nour buys a ticket to the bus going to Munich (haven't been able to persuade her to buy the ticket to Calais at this point - is that even possible?). Then she sees that before entering the bus, passengers' IDs are checked.

The first time, I told her to go for it and slip the person checking IDs a bill, and she safely got to Munich (Germany good ending).

The second time, I told her not to board the bus, and so she went with Hamid to the Calais camp. Right away she was presented with an option to leave the camp by bus, but I didn't take it, spent night in the camp, went to a peaceful protest and talked to Mohammed there, swore to not tell Camilia the truth, didn't press the issue of lying, didn't leave the protest, and then Nour herself said that she decided to take the bus (Calais Bus ending).

Not really sure how to get the camp endings :) What does she need the money for?

Regarding the Majd's Father achievement and the march: it seems that for this achievement, you have to go through the march without meeting Kelly, since Nour needs to be on her own while hitchiking, but how do you avoid meeting Kelly after splitting with Emmanuel? I was only able to get the achievement when I marched with Nahid.

Oh! So it's possible that meeting Mohammed triggers the bus ending?
