Any tips/walkthrough or a playthroughs discussion?

This game really got me emotionally, and I would love for Nour's story to have some at least partially positive conclusion, but all I seem to be able to do is to fail constantly. So I am a little sad that there is no walkthrough or at least some tips as to which choices may influence which outcomes, what you need to pay attention to, what things you should probably avoid, etc. Of course, I could find some answers in-game by trial and error, but without a skip mode it is not an easy task.

Or maybe there could be a discussion of different playthroughs and results that players managed to achieve. That would be helpful and interesting to know, too :)

So far I've got three bad endings (got stuck in the camp in Bulgaria, made it to Austria but was sent back to the camp in Bulgaria due to the Bulgarian asylum request, and got captured while trying to cross the fence in Patras) and one death ending (freezing to death after an unsuccessful attempt to cross Evros).

I assume that if in Bulgaria Nour is forced to sign an asylum request, there is no way to obtain a good ending from here.

Yeah, a walkthrough would be really cool! I'm really enjoying this game also. Though I understand why nobody has tried to make one as the game can be quite tedious to replay multiple times just to change one detail each time (I wish there was a way to accelerate Nour's messages!!).

If anybody knows how the savefile works, that could help also.

I've tried two routes so far. The first Nour made it to Athens. If I remember correctly, I made her go through a smuggler boat (in Izmir, I think?) that drowned, but she survived. While in Athens I got the Meet a punk achievement when Nour got beat up by a group of racists . The second she got to Calais in France and (probably) found asylum there. This route was particularly interesting story-wise, and also got me quite a few of the game achievements (Meet Kelly, Meet Yara, Walk with Hamid, Meet Tarek, Meet a Goat, Meet a Pakistani family, Meet Mohammed, Meet a rabbit, Meet an outstanding guy). For this route, I made Nour go through a river (in Greece?) on her own, then through Macedonia (don't remember how), and then she walked all the way across Serbia. When she arrived at the Hungarian border, it was closed and I made her go through Croatia. There I did't want to use the stolen boat tickets and managed to jump into the boat to Italy.

I'm guessing the "good" ending in Germany is a bit similar to my route to Calais, but maybe while in Croatia there's a way to cross Slovenia? But maybe that would also result in the Austrian bad ending, I don't know Update! I just read the game was partially inspired by this account of a migrant's journey https://www.lemonde.fr/international/visuel/2015/12/18/dans-le-telephone-d-une-migrante-syrienne_4834834_3210.html (you'll recognize quite a few things that are in the game!) And it does look like that is the route they took :) So the question is when in Croatia, how to get to Vienna?

You can actually listen to the 19 ending vocal messages if you go in the game files (in Content/vocal). It can give quite a few indications on how the other endings can be reached. From what I can gather :


- Germany : maybe through Slovenia?
- Athenes Daphne : I think this was my first playthrough
- Athenes Jaber : ?
- Austria : ?
- Bulgaria : that's your first ending you say peony_red?
- Calais Bus : that's my second ending, so through Serbia, then Italy
- Calais Camp : not sure how to make this one
- Calais Hamid : this sounds like if you get in a fight with Nour and keep on answering jealously when talking about Hamid, maybe?
- Croatia : This is if you use the stolen boat tickets
- Idomeni : ?
- Idomeni (no telephone) : ?
- Lesbos : ?
- Little Syria Harsh : Those I really wonder how to get...
- Little Syria Love : same
- Orestiada : ?
- Expulsion Bulgaria : or was this your first playthrough peony_red?
- Expulsion Turkey : ?
- Serbia - Suede : ??
- Vintimille : ?

Now I'm trying to understand how to get the achievement Meet Terry as it looks like you can go to Egypt, but I have no idea how...

I've enjoyed this game a lot too, but not played it in a while. I also wish someone would come out with a play through. I remember the first time I played getting 9 achievements, and then 5 the 2nd, thinking it would be easy getting them all. Well, with over 100 hours, I still have 3 missing. Since I've missed achievements maybe I've missed ending too. That would be nice to see.

Oh, so the vocal messages can be used as tips! Thank you for finding it, misterlesam, and for sharing your playthroughs - I may try to replay the game a few times (since some time has passed and I've forgotten stuff, I believe it won't be as tedious now) and repeat your path :)

I've listened to the messages you mentioned, and yes, Bulgaria was my first ending (when Nour ended up in Bulgarian camp and simply remained there after signing their asylum request) , and Expulsion Bulgaria was my second (when Nour escaped the Bulgarian camp and made it to Austria, but was sent back due to the Bulgarian asylum request she had signed).

As for Egypt, I think I've been there. Sadly, I can't remember clearly, but I think I took the plane from Syria as Nour and Majd had originally planned, but then the plane for some reason landed in Egypt (and I had to buy another plane ticket to reach my destination). But I never met Terry. I can see that Vilnore has the Meet Terry achievement, though - Vilnore, maybe you remember how you got it? :)

Well, it seems that I managed to reach Germany O_O It went like this: I paid the driver to get me to Beirut, contacted Mohammed about the smuggler, got a joint ticket for Izmir, went with the second smuggler (the one who asked for more money), took bus to Idomeni, marched to the border (and met Kelly), jumped off the bus that was taking us back in Novi Sad and crossed the border through the minefields, looked for trucks and got picked up by Ibrahim, got off the truck in Austria, got left behind by Kelly, hitchiked to Salzburg and was captured there by some military men that nevertheless let me go free - so I left, crossed the border and asked for asylum in Freilassing.
(I was actually trying to recreate misterlesam's journey to Calais, but it seems that something got wrong in Greece... How many variables and possible paths are in this game, anyway? And can Nour arrive in Germany some other way, I wonder?)

On a side note, regarding smugglers in Izmir: it seems that both can get you to Greece, except the circumstances will be different.
