I just went by the Kane & Lynch store page, and found some good news. There's a message from Square Enix. It reads:

"Notice: Square Enix has temporarily removed this title from sale to work on some important updates. Please check back soon!"

If you click the 'Follow' button, you should be notified when the game becomes available for purchase on Steam again.
