Even from beyonf the grave GfWL is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up our lives.
That file didn´t work for me, that's why i downloaded it from windows webpage
Thank you anyway for the suggestion
The game does require a "games for windows live" DLL to start so indeed, you have to install it either from the install folder "XLiveRedist" if you're using Windows 7 or earlier or from the link provided by the OP.
edit :
Sadly, this did not work on my other machine. Not sure why. I had to resort to use a modified version of the xlive.dll file that bypassed some checks. I found it on some random free upload site so i've uploaded it on my own crappy site that should at least hold it for decades.
Note that this can be used for any game from the Windows Vista era. Use 7zip to unpack it and copy the files where the game's executable is located.
