good minion combinations
some time ago i tested out a couple of minions and i settled on this combination:
bride - unfrozen - fallen dhampir - bone golem
been liking this quite a lot. recently discovered that spider mandibles boost my dhampir's DPS insanely much.
not been playing a lot on the "hard" difficulty though, so i was wondering what you guys have been using.

Werewolf - werewolf - werewolf - werewolf.
Great convination. Made it on Eternal Harvest 1 with that combination only

i am only a beginner, mostly i have used:
banshee+bride+d knight+skeleton
or
a lone dark knight with items boosting him
or
lich+skeleton
so far only on 2second difficulty though

having a lone guy party is cheap at first, and can carry you pretty far with basically no spending resources... but at some point it won't be enough... mostly in higher dificulties

as far as i recall the dark knight was pretty sturdy, but his lack of offense together with the fact that his healing is on his ulti made me replace him with bone golem.

i may be wrong though been months since i even touched dark knight.

i admit that playing on harder and hardest difficulty completely changes everything: i ve been using zombie+lich+dk+golem, but mainly only because these are only left surviving, because i ve run out of parts basically = virtually i am on brink of loss, now fighting dwarven floor

on higher difficulties your minions can die a good while faster. this is why i added the unfrozen to my setup. it's ability to freeze one of your minions is extremely handy.
the unfrozen has such utility i'd recommend you add it to all of your (vitality) teams.

i also remember not liking the zombie at all. found bride a better minion for last position.
also had to choose between lich and unfrozen in my setup once. unfrozen won by quite a margin.

haven't tried my combination on eternal harvest. though i've done all the other difficulties.

hm, interesting, thnx, i actually tried unfrozen, but AI immediately damaged healed minion, so I decided to dump him right away:((((
i cant really find any suitable minion to heal my units (lich is quite tricky, i still use him though), so i think the developers aimed at this;
i think it s better to use skelets and golems to buff/protect your units;
zombie! i agree with you, but i ve found out zombie is quite useful, now i use it:steamhappy:

btw, i ve lost that try, was quite pissed off by minions i invested nice artifacts into constantly wiped out, so i gave up and restarted with different approach to buildings/talents:steamsad:

unfrozen has much more stuff than just the heal.
->lower enemy armor by 24 (ignores shields)
->purge enemy buffs
->debuff enemy to make them take more dmg
->remove traps & buff minion on that spot.
->can be made quite sturdy due to the armor stats increasing by 2 each upgrade.

The heal happens on the turn of the target minion, so sometimes it doesn't work out due to the action order. still, i think you just got unlucky. play with him for longer and i think you'll begin liking him too.

only downside is that the unfrozen has low initiative starting out.

best early game team (varies, but this makes easier transition to mid game team)
werewolf - widow - widow - golem

best mid game team (minion lvl 15)
headhunter - widow - widow - golem

best late team (late bosses/elites)
shade - shade - shade - shade
or
shade - shade - shade - golem

I found Wraith, Golem, Werewolf and Dhampir seems to be working on GAW about halfway through.
I discovered Dhampir and Ashes of a Witch useful as long as stuff can be set alight; it seems to stack with multi attack abilities (I noticed it stacked 11 times against a large knight).
With wraith dishing out evasion and golem with blocks, it lets the werewolf attack the front and rear, preferring the 'no-miss' moves against the high evasion enemies that start to appear.
I have my doubts this will work against the later levels.

now playing last possible hardest difficulty (EH5) and using werewolf+wraith+dk+golem, but this insane difficulty proves that the squad must be adjusted at every floor, sometimes even on a floor midway, like swapping dps for bride to counter very nasty stances or lost soul for reinforcing shield/heal tank+dps; for example to beat the monster slayer boss i had to use 2 werewolves with dk and golem; also it might sound cowardish, but i am trying to get many free vampires from fleeing enemies so i usually send 3-4 lvl 1 vampires ahead for suicidal weakening of hard enemies, then fight with my main group adjusted:steamfacepalm:

I lost my wraith with this group (swapping Dhampir for dk) on GAW Monster Slayer boss, so I reckon I'd get slaughtered on EH.

monster slayer boss is 1 of the stupidiest bosses, i ve found out the only 1 strategy (and very boring too) working against him: pure damage and hitting the green (lifegiving) stone every 2nd time so your minions are almost fully healed up all the time; i d say the boss (like all other enemy units) chooses his targets by some silly RNG process, because if he would foccus on any 1 minion gradually, he would kill all with his insane attacks (dont forget he actually attacks so many times how many minions you use); at easier difficulties i used bride and tried some usual tricks, but once he randomly attacked her few times in a row, she was gone, so sadly, only raw and boring dps with no tricks works on him;
actually i wonder if someone has ever tried to stress him to insanity and eventually heart attack? pls tell us

I finished GAW with 2 golems, werewolf and dhampir. It felt I had to cheese the battle, with a bunch of vampire and extra damage potions plus the calcination and distillation buffs and the consumable that restores wrath each turn. Spells are nerfed because of the annoying elf, plus the short fat one with the oversized cotton bud/QTip who ignores blocks.

The cathedral/Magistrar was trivial in comparison with no losses - even on GAW.
I might try 4 werewolves next - would be good if the devs gave him basketball shirt / shorts as a skin.
